    Hello everyone.

Earlier this month, we held an edition of Open Ears Forum in Hamburg on 3rd of March.Twenty forum members were invited to share their feedback and suggestions. Based on the interactions and developments thereon, the product team has created a survey to understand what our users would prefer in terms of photos and camera on their OnePlus devices.

Do take some time to go through the survey and share your thoughts. We take your feedback very seriously, and our camera team will look into what's important to you guys and work on areas to improve!

Is this a serious question ? Coz it's a pretty stupid one if you actually care for proper feedback from photographers who know what they're doing and not instagram selfie taking monkeys.

first of all u should have confident in your camera . u announce photo contest and permit software tools and third party lens for that contest then where to see real photos taken by oneplus ? .u select winners who use software tools to edit photos and participate in contest . so it is difficult to say about the camera. most photos look artificial bcz of they are adjusted by software and no hardware is used in ur mobiles.

It is good to see you guys focusing on the camera. But is the Q10 really serious!? Are you trying to rely more on beauty mode? Why are you people more focused on Zoom than on low light which sucks. Moreover its the software that is spoiling the pics & not hardware. I don't see any question regarding that. Gcam gives stunning images for the same hardware where OP cam gives below average results

There is no point to have Good hardware when the software lacks capability.

my answer on what I don't like about camera was the mandatory HDR mode...
why not have a plain camera when you open the app, like in pro mode all set on Auto...
all those extra features should be selectable...
some of them even a little bit hidden...

I'm sure there would be less complaining about camera quality...

HDR actually gives you better results. I'm not sure why you're saying it's mandatory, but it can be disabled just by a tap.

IMG_20180303_174706_002.jpg I Don t care about some Image quality destroying "beauty" crap, but I do care about the Lack of an optical Zoom and the Lack of ability in manually switching between the lenses of myOP5.

Picture was shot at the open ears forum camera in Hamburg , had to zoom in a lot , OP5, automode, no editing, just zoomed in and compressed with a very special app by a friend.

As long as Oneplus is not able to give us a camera with decent basics, they should not try to use software based "Beauty" crap. Better start with basics, beauty crap can be later attached , maybe as a software module or ,even better, an external app. Don t remember any professional or even semi professional photograph who do not want best - realistic- image quality at first place.

to improve camera for op6 you should do the following :

The most important is bigger sensor 1/2.8" is too small
    s9 is 1/2.4" iphone 1/2"

No one mentioned that in the comments

Also use bigger pixel size 1.12µm is small ,use 1.4µm or higher
    + dual pixel

    Add OIS with EIS
    f/ 1.7 aperture is fine
    Improve HDR and image processing

Also partner with Snapchat and facebook for better Video Quality in stories

    not always...
HDR is a look in photography you want to achieve...
there's different algorithms and setting to tune them, to the look you like...
as long there's no option to change those settings, the software decides that...
and HDR on auto, you don't even know what the software is up to...

for a lot of scenes HDR is not even needed or will produce less good results...

the cam app should be just like a real snapshot camera...
    open app, click and done...

I will take the survey later but I must say I'm pretty disappointed with the camera overall. My old Nexus 6P had a way better cam than my OP5's...
