simbalage22 , via OnePlus Nord N10 5G Metro , Nov 21, 2021 : Can someone help me? I started buying oneplus devices after modding Samsung flagship devices for years. Now I get a brand new phone and the OEM unlock is grey out. Metro said I have to call OnePlus one plus blames metro. Need to get this unlocked so I can do root and recovery on this I am really surprised to even have to post this about a OnePlus device when that's their whole selling point and purpose Thanks in advance I tried the metro app and it says I have to wait but I believe that just unlocks the network I plan to stay on MetroPCS
drl431 , Nov 21, 2021 : Hi, carrier locked phone are much more difficult to mod, regardless of the brand. Technically, MetroPCS still owns your phone.
simbalage22 , via OnePlus Nord N10 5G Metro , Nov 21, 2021 : Made complaint to fcc as I bought it out right so they can't do that.. I could see if it was on a discount or something but I paid retail for it I have had service with them sense they were CDMA and this is the first time I'm told a device cannot be unlocked
simbalage22 , via OnePlus Nord N10 5G Metro , Nov 21, 2021 : Because I was unaware they did this. I bought my last OnePlus for this reason direct but I assumed OnePlus was automatically unlocked and able to have access to bootloader. I just got it yesterday and fordward the receipt to fcc. If they can't I'll return it and do exactly that
Tobikage , Nov 21, 2021 : The unlock process is mess from what people have reported. Getting the unlock code is a task in itself and the webpage for the same was reported to be broken multiple times. So...if you can ,just return it and get one from the OnePlus store directly.
simbalage22 , via OnePlus Nord N10 5G Metro , Nov 21, 2021 : I knew about their bloat but this is abit low even for metro I work for ascension i.t and have a OnePlus 6 on Android 11 running amazing. Figured I would step it up to 5G.. unbelievable
PaulBrooks , via OnePlus 9 T-Mobile , Dec 6, 2021 : I had min unlocked couple months ago and only took no more than 7 days to get oem unlock key from OnePlus. now I can't find any roms is custom recovery for metro variant
PaulBrooks , via OnePlus 9 T-Mobile , Dec 6, 2021 : wasn't ttrying to upset anyone. all I was saying really isn't all that hard.just have to wait 180 days on metro before u can start. my apologies.
Tobikage , Dec 6, 2021 : Oh....I'm just saying you got it done easy without much of a headache and that's good ! With the webpage not working and general misinformation from both carriers and OnePlus support staff regarding unlocking....you had it easy
W1615815246490 , Feb 18, 2022 : Be very careful when getting any Metro PCS or T Mobile device unlocked !!! Everytime I have gotten on their phones unlocked I have had to back up and wipe the handsets before using it in a network unlocked state if not you will end up with all kinds of adware and malware popups.. from what I seen so far it's coming from the carrier's in-house computers. Also when they merged with Sprint I got a extreme amount of junk pop ups. So beware. Other than that, good luck

sickasskid , Feb 20, 2022 : i recently wrote the fcc in regards to the unlocking issue and within a week before i even heard anything back from them my oem unlocking was mysteriously now available for unlocking so complaining does work look we buy the phones out right that makes them ours as far as that goes. so how are they gonna tell me i cant do something for 180 days? fact of the matter is they cant so thats were the fcc comes in says hey fix it
PaulBrooks , via OnePlus Nord N10 5G Metro , May 2, 2022 : I typed this command for my op 9 5g and it unlocked my OEM toggle in dev options without network unlock adb shell pm disable-user com.qualcomm.qti.uim
Delgoth , May 24, 2022 at 7:44 AM : Interesting maybe this is how I got my unlock toggle enabled. But once I turned the OEM toggle ON, it greyed itself back out, but stayed in the ON state. I have a BE2015. On 11.0.5.BE82CF. Yet my device actually has the GLO global firmware installed. It looks like I have an originally Unbranded N100 that the carrier later tried to lock down via CSC options. What I know is. My device has its OEM Unlock switch greyed out and unchangeable, but it is set to ON conveniently. Now I need a token.
PaulBrooks , via OnePlus Nord N10 5G Metro , May 24, 2022 at 8:49 AM : On xda look for one + tool it'll open togle and unlock bootloader with out token works great
