Action is for when they are moving, steady shot is when your moving both are good for when thing are on the go though. I prefer steady shot.

As for the best app Fv-5 is regarded as king. It is generally better, but when it come to low light it is undisputed ruler of my 6 camera apps.

    Cyanogen mod camera
    Fv-5 camera
    Google camera
    Lenovo camera
    Open camera
    A better camera app

    All have been tested

    Thanks man.

I'm trying as much as possible to stick with the CM app itself, I guess its pointless to expect CM to improve their image processing anytime soon.

I installed FV-5 just a few days back. Didn't spend much time with it,

The only things I'm not happy with FV-5 is
    1. its photo viewer (or lack of photo viewer). I prefer the ability to view previous shots quickly and seamlessly.
    2. The time it takes to buffer PNG shots. It takes a lot of time. And I'm not completely sure whether they continue the processing of the photos in the buffer when I quit the app. Their website says it does, but I'm not so sure.
No other probs as of now.

No if your not post processing jpg is fine. Png is a lossless file type. Images are also way larger so ill assume their better for editing. When Lollipop come png will be useless since Fv-5 will give us RAW

Ya, but RAW should be same whether we take it from CM app or FV-5.

No unfortunately RAW image is not supported on other apps. Fv-5 would be my undisputed only camera if it had Raw imaging. When we get Full RAW support I "plan" to publish a second guide. It will include: Video, selfies, and Google, Lenovo, Open, and Fv-5 camera apps.
Hopefully that one will get pinned to the top.
