The most important thing to do right now is to push Cyanogenmod to fix all the bugs a lot of people are having with stock Rom out of the box:

-Wifi connectivity issues with certain routers (see video below)
-Screen rotating issues (Need a calibration fix?)
-Random reboot serveral times a week (more than 5)
    -Flash light gesture not consistent
-3G and LTE signal drops (have to reset the signal to make it work again)
-GPS localisation taking to much time and loosing signal while navigating
-No autofocus while recording videos (need to tap to focus), Cyanogen is having a hard time to fix this, so they deleted the autofocus. (see video below)
-Different glitch happening (see video below)

Well for me, the big thing with 4G/LTE is latency, I've always been "happy enough" with 3G speeds, but the latency sucks on 3G.

IMO. If you are expecting to, at least, double the number of current Europe customers, and going to start to deliver directly to more Europe countries where 800MHz is popular, why not? you don't want to listen to same complaints about lack of band 20 support for next 6-12 month from new customers. But if you switching to a newer flagship in 3-6 month, then maybe it's not worth to renew an old product.
    anyway good luck
p.s. there always were are and will be unhappy customers

To be honest I would prefer India as a release country first, instead of an (second) european Version.
These guys can't wait any longer. :)

He said they won't be refurbishing them but i do agree that they should keep it for their next phone. The time saved could be used to improve things in other ways with the oneplus one

I wish the Canadian market was big enough so that you may work out something with e.g. Canada Post to lessen the burden of shipping...

I re-read your post, you said it would mean "instant bankruptcy" and you gave valid reasons. So why are you "still contemplating whether to pursue this or not" knowing this. You will not "turn them against [you]", you gave valid reasons. It's your company. Grow slowly, but grow strong.

I wouldn't mind, I got my phone a lot earlier which is reason enough to sacrifice the 800 band. I don't think it would make that much of a difference for me (I should research where there's a strong 800 MHz signal available) and I generally don't use LTE anyway. If you think it's worth making a European version of the phone, by all means do it. I don't think it's important that you do, nor would I mind it. So I'd be fine whichever you choose :)

Yes I could, but some people did it and also receive the notification update that they couldn't get rid off in the notification bar.
