Already do the unlock+root+custom recovery (twrp) some say that it's worked like charm without losing root and problem I'm still worried about the possibility to brick the phone, because someone bricked theirs I hope it was 2 localized problem, but someone can please tell us that is a painless process to do its over a rooted and custom recovery opo with twrp 2.7.1.0?

And if I for some reason want to go back to non-root, stock recovery, and locked bootloader, how do I do that?

Who else finds it hilarious that SDK Tools requires 165MB just to install! ha ha

My first-ever PC had only a 100 MB hard drive!!

Um, as great as this is, no Guide is n00b-proof until statements like the one above include "... on your computer!" (How many n00bs will wrongly attempt to download an app called "Universal ADB Driver"??!?)

Tried this method but every time after installing drivers my phone isn't recognized by the computer. I used my laptop a few times to root other phones, perhaps that's the reason the residue old drivers are messing things up. I also tried OnePlus kit to no avail. Can't root my phone...

You might have to manually reinstall the drivers. Had an N5 before and had to do this for my OPO.
