Rooting your devices gives applications deeper permissions and allows your apps to change things such as blocking ads by google.... example:bigtincan adfree

a custom recovery allows you to perform backups, wipe your device and install custom roms on your device. A rom is basically (very) a different version of android. example: cyanogenmod, Paranoid, slimkat

    Hope this helps

Yes, did the routine of reinstalling drivers manually using Samsung drivers - and voila, all done.
I really like this phone, everything just works so flawlessly. Kinda over-oomph N5.

It should be noted that you can never enter fastboot mode while you're connected to PC with USB. Disconnect/enter fastboot/reconnect works

I can't get my drivers installed. All the time it's telling me, drivers not installed. Tried already nearly driver, nothing. Furthermore, ADB Interface doesn't show up at device manager. Has anyone an idea how to solve my problem?

Assuming you're on Windows PC and have the drivers, I used these instructions starting from #7: http://visualgdb.com/tutorials/android/usbdebug/manualinstall.php

Anyone have any problems using TWRP? I just tried to make a back up where it pretty much froze and forced me to reset pressing pwr + vol down

I'm wondering if its the OPO or TWRP that caused the non responsive display/freeze

You know how the screen goes to sleep if you dont do anything? well i woke it up and needed to slide it to "unlock" and it wouldn't respond.

Whoa that sure is weird. The auto sleep while on TWRP sure gets annoying. Sometimes I can't even turn on the screen at all. Now every time I flash TWRP first thing I do is disable the auto sleep in its settings so I don't get stuck in black screen or anything else after flashing zips or leaving the phone there for a while.
