OnePlus One Protective Case Review

    Splendor , Jul 30, 2014 :
I bought the official OnePlus One Protective Case in green and got it tonight and thought I would post my thoughts.
    http://oneplus.net/oneplus-one-protective-case

    Pros:
    • Perfect balance of protection/thinness for my needs.
    • I love that the power/volume button cutouts are left completely open. It makes it much easier to access the buttons.
    • Complete access to ports on top and bottom.
    • I don't see any weak points where the case would crack from taking it on and off the phone.

    Cons:
    • There is no texture to the case. It's just slippery plastic.
    • I wish the corners were more raised to protect the screen when the phone is placed screen-down.
It's a good case overall but I wouldn't buy it again. Mainly because I don't like the way the slippery finish feels in my hand.

Check Amazon. There's a thin case that's super good.

The protective case has to have front cover such as note covers. I am not a person, who like to use screen protector films.

Nice to know. If I ever get the chance to buy the phone, I might consider the cover.

Neither did I, but then came rounded edges tempered glass screen protectors. And that changed my world!
    It did!

@OP, did the cover damage your sandstone back?

No, I've put the case on and taken it off several time now and I don't see any wear to the sandstone finish.

IIRC that piece is actually chrome colored plastic. But to answer your question, yes & no. The case does leave some areas of the bezel unprotected (e.g. on the top and bottom of the phone).

I used the flip cover OnePlus One case for a couple weeks. I felt that it probably would not provide enough protection if I dropped it.

Other than that I love the case... Very low profile and somehow the screen shuts off as soon as the cover is closed. I love that feature... Don't understand it, but I love it.

Anyhow, I bought the diatonic case from Amazon. I feel like it provides a little more protection.

Is there a reason that people like to put phones face down? I see review videos talk about that aspect but am not sure why. Is it to avoid dust build up?

Don't get the OnePlus One Protective Case. Poor quality - after only 2 weeks, the corner cracked just from the stress of putting the phone in and out of it twice. I haven't dropped it.
