OnePlus One won't charge with Power Bank

    Hi,

I bought an Anker powerbank online a while ago when I had my old phone, but it won't now charge my OnePlus. I know it works as it has charged other phones and ipods but it won't charge the OnePlus, it appears to charge for a couple of seconds before stopping, any ideas?

It also wouldn't charge with a friends powerbank either if that makes a difference...

This or the Powerbank can't hold up with the OnePlus (in terms of output). The Xiaomi Powerbank works though...

Oops my bad, i just clicked start a new thread without looking where I was... not sure how I change it though...

I can't actually find it online at the moment!

I use the Nexus charger normally as they're easier to get hold of than the originals and it charges fine with that, I've also tried plugging that into the power bank but it still doesn't work.

The OPO can draw a large amount of power. If you use a cheap USB cord to charge it, you'll notice that it takes forever. The stock one will charge twice as fast.

Look at the port on the Anker. Sometimes they have an output label. I have a different charger that has two ports one is 1.0 and one is 1.2. The 1.0 hardly does anything. The 1.2 charges it fine.

If you only have one port, chances are it's a 1.0 and does not give enough output.

I've had two of the original chargers which have both broken within a month or so of having them and can be annoying to find them at a decent price + delivery in England, the Nexus is an easier alternative and I still find that it charges really quickly.

I'll have a look and see if I can find an output label :)[/QUOTE]

If it's the Astro slim model then it looks like there's only 1 Amp out of both ports. As previously mentioned, this is probably not enough for the OPO or any other phone that typically takes 2 Amp input

It will charge with most banks that can output something better than 1A @ 5V

I've got this one. Slightly smaller capacity and more expensive but would recommend it. I think @BrettPlusOne would happily give his endorsements too.

Extremely slowly! The OPO needs 5V 2.1 Amps. To see factory charging conditions. You could give it more and it should regulate itself.
