Not sure whether I am sad or proud to say this, but after more than 6 and a half years, my oneplus one developed a snag and stopped working yesterday. YES! you read that right - it's the very first Oneplus One. I am probably one of the last remaining relics who have been using the Oneplus One. Got it sometime in September of 2014 when Oneplus was a small startup and the phone could be bought only on invites. And the phone has kept going every day since then satisfying everything I needed out of it. I have referred and bought newer Oneplus phones for my family, but never had to replace mine as the need did not arise. Thanks Oneplus team for making such a great phone. :)

Creating this as a thread to check whether there are other users of the Oneplus One, still out there!

P.S: The phone developed a snag couple of days back where it goes into a restart loop. Tried multiple factory reset and known tricks but to no avail. Still works if I keep charging continuously (without removing it out of a power supply), but that is going to be impossible right. ;)

Can't say I still use it as a daily driver, but it's been sitting at my desk ever since I flashed LineageOS 18.

P.S. - that's not a crack on the screen, that's a cat hair. The phone is in mint condition. 😉

This day, seven years ago, I was standing on a stage in Beijing, nervously launching the OnePlus One. As with any new venture, the risks were high, but, reading this comment in 2021, and knowing that users like you, @nareshs86, are still using the device is truly inspiring.

I'm sorry to hear that your OnePlus One is showing its signs of age, though. I would offer to provide a free repair, but 8 years in, I'm not sure if the parts needed would be available. Let's do this instead. Someone from our Community team will reach out to you shortly to gather your details and provide you a brand-new OnePlus 9. I trust that 8 years from now, we'll be hearing a similar story from you. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

On this day, 23rd April 2030 I'll post a review of my OnePlus 7T which is the perfect synchronisation of hardware, software and CMF.
Though I've mentioned this almost everywhere, but OnePlus CMF and ID team never ceases to impress me. 😉

    That's a good gesture.

But if you had done it without boasting about this thread on twitter, I would have been really happy with the gesture. Unfortunately, you just turned it into a marketing stunt.

They should just make devices that last as long and stand out from the competition without being constantly bugged by issues

I'm still using my Oneplus X without any major issues, charger port a little 'temperamental' after 5 years but everything else still looking and working fine. Ordered an 8T last night to replace it, expecting quite a surprise in performance.
