OnePlus shows Xiaomi how to gracefully accept defeat

  1. HamzaKovsky Elk Honeycomb Feb 15, 2018

    HamzaKovsky Elk, Feb 15, 2018 :
Xiaomi posted a Twitter poll, pitting MIUI 9 against Android One. MIUI 9 lost by a landslide, and Xiaomi deleted the results, OnePlus performed a similar poll, pitting OxygenOS against pure Android. Pure Android also won by a landslide, however, OnePlus did not delete the poll, and instead thanked users for their feedback and committed to making OxygenOS even better! what do you guys think of it ? is really pure Android better than OOS ?! in my opinion I think not...

It wasn't on their Twitter account so they didn't really have the option to delete it even if they wanted.

here's the reply in the end from Szymon Kopeć :"Thanks for an overwhelming amount of responses. I’ve read all your comments. Appreciate the positive and, especially, negative ones. It motivates us for further work on OxygenOS and helps improving the product. Cheers!"

What I do with this message? If you're writing that OnePlus did a poll on Twitter. Then it means they did on their official Twitter hanfle. Look buddy I'm not here to start a debate with you. If you want to edit, then edit. If you don't want to editz then don't. Don't drag this conversation further.

this was not a landslide then, destroying a vote is not 58 to 42.

in my opinion a landslide is 80-20 plus.

Okay well forgetting the semantics of who said what for a moment. I've always been a proponent of AOSP based ROMs but that being said there's always a certain amount of extra features and customization added in, you don't really get much if you just compile straight AOSP. I think Oxygen OS does a good job of providing that extra little bit of flair while still providing a smooth, clean stock like experience. I think if they can work the kinks out that they've been experiencing and not give in to all the demands for every single feature from every other manufacturer out there, they have the opportunity to provide something even better straight out of the box without the need for users to unlock and use custom ROMs. I'd much rather see what they can make of this than just have them switch to stock Android.
