the fact is that they promised security patches every 2 months, and on OP3 it's still stucked with NOV security

Been seeing a lot of negativity around a lack of updates on Reddit about this stuff so this is awesome to see.

this was announced in 2018-06, people on Reddit are complaining cuz it's been 2 month + 3 days and there is still no bimonthly update. no I'm not a Reddit complainer but I still understand why they are angry about it

I thought this was a new thread since it was on the first page here. I didn't realize how old it was. I understand why they are complaining too and I thought this was OnePlus making adjustments off of that.

It seems like oneplus is loosing charm incase of software and monthly security patches department. even poco f1 is rolling out march security patch now. i didnt expect this from oneplus 6t definitely making a switch to poco f2 . Looks like oneplus is not interested in 6t now after all the oneplus7 hypes around.

Just like in the past, its just a PR stunt by OP. They haven't followed these schedules for any of their existing devices. Its all a ponzy scheme.

While the 3 and 3T are behind schedule (because they will jump directly to Pie, as already mentioned by OnePlus), my 5T has never failed the schedule. The 6 and 6T are only a few days behind schedule but I assume an update should be around the corner as a new beta was released today.

OnePlus 2 has already reached EOL 2 years back. No more support for OP2 from OnePlus.

    where is oneplus 6 update? @Manu J.

If we go by 2month update the last one was on 12-2 and it's already 17-4 so clearly update is not available as of schedule

Secondly regarding security patch, it is mentioned that you provide it at every two month so 9.0.4 have January, is this March??

Did i paid a single penny less then 39,999rs ?

Definitely this isn't going by maintenance schedule

so the lack of a patch has made your phone that shi**y huh? I'm assuming you're exaggerating. Are you having issues because of the lack of security patch, have you been hacked? I'm just saying I'm seeing all these people complaining, but haven't seen anyone with any actual issues because of this late security update.

There is something known as commitment.. Once you commit that you will provide something you should respect those commitments.. a week here and there is acceptable.. but 2+ months?? How is OP different from likes of Samsung if they also start delaying updates?

Not keeping up to date in monthly security patches is not recommended by Google. Someone please explain this over enthusiastic OnePlus fanboy. When your company commits to a 2 year bio-monthly schedule you follow it. Even in their Twitter page they are gloating about their upcoming 5g trash speedy phone. I swear next time I am going for a Samsung, At least they have polished their one UI and deliver on their updates. Can't believe we have gotten to this stage now where a company can't even keep up with Samsung regarding the monthly security updates.
