Because they have given in writing that there will be bi-monthly updates they can be easily sued in court here in North America. They need to either provide updates or refund the money..

I'm assuming you're talking about me. Yes it sucks we haven't gotten the update, but complaining about it isn't going to make it magically appear. and if you aren't having issues then who cares if their late. I'm not having issues and that's why I don't care about it being late. oh and I'm not a fanboy just rational thinker, I actually hate OnePlus for giving us a shi**y in display fingerprint sensor that works like 10% of the time. but I can't do anything about it so I'm not going to complain ‍♂️

So questioning a company about delivering their promises to their customers after buying their products through their hard earned money and very well in their consumer rights, Acts as a 'complaining' to you ?

Remember Guys don't buy a smartphone expecting monthy security patches ( Which is a goddam basic responsibility of any phone manufacturer) to be updated. Because Samsung and Apple or any other company have not been doing it for the past 10 Years. Even Samsung which is known for their late updates has always proven to monthly provide you with security updates but according to Brandon here, It is not the reason why most people buy a smartphone apparently.

See this here ? Yeah this is a warning sign from Google itself that your phone has not been updated for the past 2 months. Hey OnePlus check this out when you are done gloating about your 5g OnePlus 7.

exactly!!! thanks for understanding [e]1f601[/e] someone finally gets that I didn't buy my 6T because I'm worried about security. my first smart phone that I got for free hasn't had a security update in two years and I still don't have any issues with it. it's a old ZTE running marshmallow. I use it as a spare. I DID NOT BUY MY 6T because I was worried about security, that wasn't even a factor, I bought it because it's a kick-*** phone besides the crappy fingerprint sensor.

I saying once they are a month, two months behind then we could maybe start getting concerned. but even so does that mean the phone is compromised. my point is if you haven't had an issue then what's the issue.

Some corporate networks, where you are allowed to use your own device only let you connect if the device has up to date security patches and software

But we should not wait for "ISSUE" to happen.. the day it happens it will mess up things.. Gmail cannot say that we will not be investing in securing your passwords every day because an issue didn't happen..

It's clear that you have a different perspective in life so let us complain because it's the community board and our right so if you don't agree then let's agree to disagree. They are behind in their promises so they have the right to know that they are messing up their community base.

Brandon again doesn't seem to understand the issue here but instead he keeps putting his own perspective of how his smartphone doesn't need his monthly security patches witch is fine but we care and we bother having monthly security updates because the company we paid our money promised to update it on a bio-monthly schedule. Again OnePlus needs to be reminded.

After months of waiting and working hard as they claim on their updates, Now they release it with the march security patch in mid April. Like what the hell is wrong with you OnePlus ? Why would you do this ? I am seriously considering this as my last device and this is coming from someone who generally is a fan of your company and the promises you make but the last 2 months have been really hard for me to take your phony baseless claims seriously. You already have contradicted your own statements regarding your bio monthly updates. If this is how you bother treating your one year old or sixth month old phones then wonder what this company will bother doing next. Open your eyes and fix yourself up OnePlus.
