This is going to fall miserably since the majority of tech nerds already have a smart (4K+) TV or two by now. A TV box would be a better product.

It better come with a great remote control...

I could control my current TV with an app, but never do...
By the time I unlock the phone, open the app to get started, I already zapped through 20+ Stations with the ir-controler, saw that nothing good is on, turned off the TV and switched to internet Radio on the stereo system...

I doubt OnePlus would go for it since I don't have a million followers . And if the price point they are aiming for is the high-end QLED's from Samsung, then I can't do a side-by-side with one, and I'd have to go with visiting one at a store (bringing content on a thumb-drive). I'd love to do grab an HDMI splitter and do a side-by-side with my Vizio M-Series. It was right before the HDR color range started to drop, and Dolby Vision looks amazing on it. However, the QLED should blow it away, but how does Android compare to Vizio's SmartCast in ease of use?

I basically use Chromecast as a switch. Everything streams. For example, I can pull up PowerAmp on my phone and Chromecast to the TV, which uses a digital link to the big speakers. At that point, if I can yell loud enough over the music I can tell Google to switch tracks, pause, etc. The Home Mini under the TV uses the Vizio as it's default display, and the commands make it back to PowerAmp on the phone via Chromecasts's APIs. So, does the Oneplus TV, designed for integration, integrate as easily? That's one of the Oneplus goals so its particularly important. I could maybe even get rid of my $80 media server if the OPTV supports USB 3 to connect an SSD and can play back HDR content from its media player and/or Kodi

Also, I don't believe they mentioned Dolby Vision (yet?) although they mention Atmos and 8 speakers (yet, surround is pointless if you can't put speakers behind you).

All my Ultra Blurays support Dolby Vision and Atmos. So does an m-series LCD with Dolby Vision give a better image than a QLED with just HDR10/10+? If so, I could do some serious simplification of my setup since the reciever's HDMI ports don't support a Dolby Vision pass-through so it has to be bypassed. Never buying Sony again. They won't do a firmware update to pass-through Dolby Vision. The hardware can do it!

over the years I'm waiting for one simple feature in tv which helps everyone in this world who watch TV.

implant a small speaker in tv remote.

install a button on tv when u press that button the tv remove should start ringing.

comeon it's an important feature everyone wants. try to do it coming versions.

So here it is, a new OnePlus TV. Things to remember:
    - not cheap
    - not really price competitive
    - awful remote that is useless comparing to regular remotes (better think about using your phone to control your TV), volume on the side of remote? are you kidding?
    - wobbly mount
    - oversaturated colors (the thing I hate in TVs is unnatural colors)
    - beaten by an previous gen LED Sony TV for picture quality (at comparable price)
    - no Netflix app (will come in an update...)
    - difficult setup for 4K HDR with your Xbox - many settings deep in menus to just get it working at all
    - want to switch between HDR and SDR games on console? prepare for manual reconfiguration of HDMI input on TV every danm time

    btw watch this

... and still, OnePlus TV section closed for new threads...
