Oneplus two adaptive brightness even when off?

On my oneplus two, the screen from time to time adjusts brightness slightly. It seems to happen randomly. I have the adaptive brightness turned off because I hate that feature. Is this a bug? Does anyone know a fix or also has this issue?

I'm currently facing the same issue, did you manage to find out what was causing the random change in brightness?

I see it too and it's horribly annoying. It's usually when going from dark screens to light ones and vice versa. Just watch your battery and status icons at the top and you can see them dim and brighten based on the rest of the screen.

    I think,
That this is a bug from Stock Android...
Im Not owning the opt, but a Broken s4 atm, sadly, but that exact Same Bug happens all the time..
In my case, There is no way to fix this manually, i habe to wait till it adjusts back..
    Pretty annoying..

I have about a dozen phones and once you turn off the adjustment for brightness it works fine. Not so on the OPT. Each oem calls it something different but it's not an android thing...it's OPTs iffy software. Probably I doing it to conserve battery. Don't need as much brightness on dark screens I suppose. It's irritating though.

The screen is by far the biggest disappointment with this phone. After using the Note 5 I just can't even bear to look at the thing. Completely washed out and bland. It's sad too because this phone could be so great if they just picked a better display. Damn.

So I'm not going totally crazy... was this ever fixed? And did anyone work out if you can change the screen setting to give it more pop?

I am an iPhone user mostly.. Now moved to Android lollipop on oneplus 2. And I just love this version of Android and Google play is just superb. Oneplus 2 itself is pretty good.. But I have some issue with adaptive brightness. The problem is that the sensor feels little slow to a dust the brightness level as well as it modifies the brightness level is multiple jerky stepssteps. Unlike iphone.. It is not smooth. One after adjusting the brightness level, it keeps interfering.. Which is plain annoying. Can we expect some software fix for the same..?

Hello, I have the same problem. Adaptive brightness turns on itself... I'm not 100% sure, but I think it has sonething to do with rebooting the phone.

Has anyone found a fix for this? It is such an annoyance that I have been considering going back to my OnePlus One. Not exaggerating.

I think I have the same problem, my brightness switches to a little bit lower from time to time. It's really annoying. My Nexus device had the same problem. I think it has to do with the CPU/overheating. It needs to be fixed, once and for all.

I think I read in a review recently something about this actually being an active contrast 'feature' of the phone, to increase the brightness of bright images, and make the dark images darker. It's like the 'active backlight' used on some LED LCD TVs to increase the apparent contrast ratio.

So it's actually a separate function to the adaptive brightness, but it is just as slow and annoying.

If it is a separate function, it should have it's own toggle in settings, not switch the adaptive brightness setting.

Has this been fixed in Oxygen OS 2.1.2? Haven't updated yet myself.
