Hey everyone,

We hope you’re catching on to the launch madness from the safety of your homes. We’ve had an exciting couple of weeks leading up to the OnePlus 8 Series launch all working from home to the best of our ability to keep the hype going.

In this time, we’re constantly thinking of ways to transform the OnePlus experience so you don’t lose out during the lockdown. We just got done with our first ever online launch. What’s next?

Usually, you’d expect a flurry of post launch activity with OnePlus Pop Ups, contests like #OnePlusUnboxing and more. But this time, we know that the community won’t be able to experience our latest product like every other launch. So while we’ve been preparing for distribution, we’ve also been working on a special feature so you don't miss out on the unboxing experience.

What if you could unbox the OnePlus 8 Series without a physical box around you?

Presenting (for the first time ever):
The OnePlus AR Unboxing experience

We’re using simple AR tech to bring a virtual experience of our new products to the community. We’re launching two AR filters on our Instagram channels. One for the OnePlus 8 and the other for the 8 Pro. These filters are a sweet setup to help you virtually unbox the OnePlus 8 Series at any place and at any time.

To get started, visit @oneplus or @oneplus_india on Instagram and check our new filters tab. Pick your preferred unboxing filter, find a surface to unbox your device and get rolling.

Once you hit record, you can tap and interact with the box to see its various components.


The Challenge
If you think you can take our AR filters and do more with it, you can be a part Phase 1 of OnePlus Unboxing.

Rules:

1. Post an unboxing with one of our unboxing filters on your Instagram story
2. Tag @oneplus_india and use #OnePlusARUnboxing as a hashtag
3. You can save your video and upload it on to this link​

The top creative unboxing gets a chance to win a OnePlus 8 Series device.

Note - The challenge is for India only but everyone has access to the filters globally.
