the usb cable that came with my OPO is usefull only to charge the one.
On connecting to the laptop, it charges.... does not let me access the phone for media transfer.
i went to settings> storage > USB computer connections>and clicked on Media Device (MTP)
the system does not recognize the phone anymore... i have been using the phone& cable only since a week and there are no cuts or external damages or folds!
even when i got the phone, i had trouble connecting and transferring data using the cable.
my system is windows 8.... post a week all that this cable can be used for is charging and not a usb cable

Can i get a replacement? if so ... how?
    anyone else having this problem?

You must have USB debugging enabled.

Before that, developer settings by going into About phone and pressing Build number.

Settings - about the phone - tap build number 7 times
Settings - developer options - Usb debugging (check).
    Try again

    EXACTLY!!

further on it is a cable problem ar the usb part end, i have to push the cable up one inserted in the usb slot and hold it in that position.... so the usb input end has a problem!
Just discovered this! what do i do now... it keeps disconnecting!

Disable USB debugging if you want to use your phone as an external storage aka flash. Your cable is ok.
