I don't think the watch is doomed. But it's in need of some work. I agree on that. But I rather get 10 fixes a bit later than spreading them out in 5 updates since updating the watch is extremely slow.
I don't use the training components directly. But if I did I'm sure it would be annoying if some types of training does not work properly.
Silence is not uncommon in some situations. There are a few situations we're more info about upcoming fixes would have been great. Even if it takes some.time.before getting it knowing something is in progress would be appreciated by everyone.

Last delay without any comments I had was the EU firmware for 9 series... Heavy delay. So long that I thought we skip it. But 17 days later than India it came. Would have been much better with a tiny notice about the delay.

Last week I have received my OnePlus Watch and installed the OnePlus Health app. Since then my phone battery usage time was reduced by half. Even when the watch is not connected to the phone the app still keeps draining so much battery (it went from 100% to 75% in 5 hours while I was sleeping (no watch connected)). I tried reinstalling the app, cleaning app data/cache - no result. One of the reasons to buy the smart watch was that I have OnePlus phone and a watch from the same brand would work much better and efficient. I understand the fact that data is being transferred between the devices (the phone and the watch) while being connected and GPS and other sensors use the battery but this is just too much. Does anyone have similar problem and are there any workarounds? or perhaps OnePlus devs can work it on. I can provide necessary information (logs) to the team if need.

OnePlus Watch: Cobalt LE (Software: W301GB_11_B.52)

    Looking forward hearing from you,

Call mute button always in disable mode, Blood oxygen,Heart rate and Stress measure function not working. Really i feel very disappointed. First time i purchesed something from oneplus that is oneplus smart watch and i never seen this type of worst watch. I lose trust on oneplus(First impression is the last impression). i wasted my money here.

That measurement problem seems likely to be due to a defective sensor. You should look into getting a refund or replacement. (I'm still somewhat hopeful that there will be a software update to deal with the inactive mute button, although it has been that way for a long time with no indication that there's another update coming.)

And no news from Oneplus ... no update, nothing.
It's impressive how much this company doesn't care about his customers. Sad is disappointed.

Had the same issue, luckily I purchased it from Amazon and was able to return and get a new one the following day. New one is working as expected.

Just a shame they didn't put as much effort into their watches as they do with the phones.

Point 1 and 3 would be good but not point 2.
My wife has a smartwatch with wear os and she has to charge the watch almost every two days .
You need on the watch no apps for it you have the phone and secondly it is a sports watch.
If you want a watch with playstore you have to buy another one that supports it.
On the OnePlus watch that will never work.

My heart rate monitor used to work, but it hasn't since my watch loaded an update more than 10 days ago. It's quite frustrating. I've had the band/watch for a while, so I don't know why the heart rate suddenly stopped working. I just tried cleaning the sensors on the watch and tried charging it again. Any other suggestions? It's important for me to track my heart rate. Thank you.

    Try resetting to factory settings.
But let's face it the heart rate data is not 100% accurate. I would not rely on it.

1st time pairing: You put the code from the watch into the OnePlus App.
After an Update: Check the box under the code for permissions & your paired again.

Funny, I had this problem yesterday, worked when I went to bed, didn't when I woke up.
Rebooting the watch fixed my problem.

Ah yes, there really is a reboot on this watch. I should have looked for one and it's been ages since the battery died (best part of this watch). Rebooting worked, thanks!

And I agree that the heart rate data I've not found to be very accurate, at least when not on real-time.
