I knew google was tracking me 5 years ago.

I never said google doesn't make mistakes but I'm willing to bet that in project treble's case, it's not going to be on them if it does not work out.

O know that plenty of companies and apps and this and that collects data even OP as we know, the point was that they are still collecting the data after you say in the options NO do not track my locations, and even if they support treble and it's the OEMs that don't want to chip in, I would not be surprised if google is the one to just pull the plug just because. But this is just speculation, let's wait and see what happens shall we ?

So you may heard 1+ isn't going to support Project Treble and doesn't plan to do so. There are so many advantages i don't really understand why they aren't on board with that idea. Sure i guess the implementation is painful at first but they should have resources for that. In the end, it will make their life easier and us, the users, happier!

If you don't know what Project Treble is:

The lack of this feature is holding me back from ordering the 5T. What are your feelings about it? I hope this thread creates enough momentum for the change of heart.

It is a requirement for all devices launching with Android Oreo. Since OP5/5T launched with Android Nougat, then it is the decision of OnePlus whether to support it or not.

I suppose that's why they didn't release the device with Android O and pretended to prioritize OP3/T owners.
I wonder if there is any kind of certification need, we know OP don't like to certify anything
Lol these guys crack me up.

Because the OnePlus 5's OxygenOS that's based on Oreo is not yet ready, similar to how they released OP3T with Marshmallow instead of Nougat onboard.

Have you taken into consideration that OnePlus 3/3T have very different hardwares compared to OnePlus 5/5T and they only have limited manpower to work on OxygenOS? There's already a leaked closed beta of Oreo, I've tried it and it's filled with tons of bugs. I'd rather wait for stable software than deal with a crappy one... I just don't know if you'd rather too...

Oneplus said they won't put Treble in 5T probably because of the additional work required to implement it.
They would anyway have to unify the 5/5T devolepment and start the Treble implementation from scratch for 2 devices.
By not implementing Treble they saved some time and effort to get the Oreo builds better by testing on the 3/3Ts and then switching the Beta to 5/5T going forward
