I confess I got disappointed with this news. I was expecting to have Leica system on 9 series. So let's wait an see what comes in the future. Hope to hear good reports concerning the new cameras.

It's a Mercedes vs a BMW. I would be extremely happy with any of it. Both systems are masters in photography. If OnePlus really does what the rumors promised ..... we all will be happy.

The camera on the smartphone is not about the hardware only. Google being a good example. Facts are, most of the pictures taken on smartphones are all manipulated one way the other, there are no "real pictures" taken by the smartphone, they are "manipulated", by the GPU and software combo, one way or the other.

The Sony+Zeiss relationship lasted 20+ years, although One Plus is no Sony, perhaps that's what Hasselblad saw: no competing products will ever come from the One Plus, nor does Hasselblad ever want to get into the smartphone market. The relationship is about commitments from both companies for development of the process that would yield ideal products for the targeted consumers with competing or better quality than what One Plus had produced thus far.

No one company can do everything well, Samsung, Huawei, Apple, Google all have proven that. I look forward to another well established partnership and really hope to see excellent products from the cooperation.

If hassleblad is really coming to the Oneplus phones, then I think it could heighten the competition among other flagships. But honestly speaking, Oneplus' camera performs well despite not having these so called flagship sensors.

nope, they can't claim the camera crown. Hasselblad already experimented with mobile camera with motorola and was "worst" "sucked". Hasselblad is itself trying to get into mobile space and experimenting with one Plus.

Doesn't really matter. Whoever did it, "Leaked" it before release. Most if not all companies leak info to garner interest in a product. It's just another marketing tool. 😎👍
