    Dear Oneplus,

I've made several complaints& Requests for accessing 5g on my device since last 5 months with absolutely no use. Came to know that the Indian variants of phones (being sold in Qatar) supports only 2 major 5g bands. Because of that reason only users here can't access 5g. But Oneplus hide this from customers and still let suppliers to sell their phones by marketing 5g. This is cheating that most of the users doesn't know.

Oneplus's technical team dragged this case for 5 months by saying silly reasons. It's true that I should have checked the network compatibility for 5g here. But as a normal user, I didn't notice and I'm sure most of the customers won't be checking it before buying again so that Oneplus can maximize their sale!! Great marketing Team Oneplus. As your captions says "Never settle"

    Thanks!!

    Hi,

I can understand it is very annoying for you.

Did you buy your phone from an authorised OnePlus retailer?

That is not true, the full specs of each device from each region is avaiable from the day of launch on the official oneplus site.

The website always mentions the entire 4g and 5g bands that are supported.

Oneplus hardware supports Qatar 5G Network which is the N78, however, the device doesn't recognize it and the operator didn't register oneplus on the 5G network, so we need OnePlus to push an update to enable 5G in our region

I bought my phone from Al Anees on Nov 05, 2020. Proceeded for vacation in Dec 2020. Enrolled for Beta while I was in India. Came back to Qatar in June '21 to see 5G never appear, which actually did work for me during Nov 2020.

I tried a full reset yesterday. Forced 'NR only' and nothing worked.

I came across this thread, https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...on-oneplus-8-series-and-oneplus-7-5g.1345340/ , which I thought I will give a shot after a visit to Al Anees.

Looks like I should save some time by not getting into the infinite diversions of Doha.

So shouldn't you be asking the operator to approve your specific model on their 5G network? I think this is the best way forward for you, you too @SJar68

It's not the operators fault you are correct.

Nor is it Oneplus's fault that you have chosen to use your phone in a different country than it was intended for on a long term basis. It's the buyers responsibility to ensure they have chosen the correct phone for their personal needs.

There are many ways you can get a work around to fix the problem you created, some of them free but take your time, some will cost you via a third party expert. All of those are listed in threads here by helpful users.

You will not get rectification of your self made problem by ranting on a user forum.

Good luck in reading through the threads. 🙂
