Hey! I would like to wipe my cache via OOS recovery but when I go to recovery mode it asks for a password (to decrypt the device) in order to proceed. Where can I get the password and is there any other way to wipe the cache without decrypting my OP5?

    Thanks!

Try to unlock your bootloader -

Go to settings < developers mode :

    - turn on OEM lock
    - usb debugging : turn on
    - turn on : Advance reboot

    Press power + volume up

Then in Bootloader : Type cmd from your pc (adb) : fastboot oem unlock

After that your phone will reset and also give one cmd in bootloader - fastboot erase userdata )

Then lock your Oem bootloader if you want. Afterward it will not ask for password.

Thanks! But I would prefer not to unlock my bootloader. Just want to wipe cache + dalvik via my stock recovery :/

I mean I don't want to unlock and lock because I would need to set up system + transfer files again

Mine shows as requesting a pattern. The normal pattern I use to unlock the phone worked. I'm guessing it's the same for password.
