Using SwiftKey everything working fine
My OnePlus 5t is lagging a lot since few days. especially the WhatsApp while inserting the smileys. even during number dialing and text typing, i am experiencing a lot of lag. my device is just 2 months old and its running oxygen OS 5.1.2. i tried clearing the cache and scanning the mobile through antivirus software. but not change.
anyone else facing similar issue!!!!
i got same problem here no idea what happened after update app in play store.. (almost has update file everyday)
than realized it lag and when taking screen shot it freezes..
I don't think there is any lag anymore. I am currently on OS 5.1.2 and it's all working fine and smooth. The oil paint effect in camera still exists but you have to deal with it, there's no other option.
Wait for the next update and it should all be fine. Clearing cache wouldn't affect much here.
its good that you don't have any. even mine was also pretty smooth. this lag thing started just a few days back.
I have the same issue with WhatsApp or probably the same. Although not while switching apps, but rather when sending messages. I press send and at time I cand be waiting for 20 or 30 seconds to send. In the meantime I have a watch icon instead of the checks.
At times although I cand switch instantly between apps it takes a moment to start reacting (the app in focus/ on the screen).
I know several seconds it's not the end of the world, but when you are texting for a while with someone it can become really unpleasant to get this so often.
Regarding the cash I partially understand but at the same time after each cleaning I need to go back and authenticate on all the app that don't use OAUTH and there are a number of apps that I think will never implement it. For instance my bank app and several others with the same security level.
Under the circumstances I fail to find the cache cleaning as a friendly solution at this version. 5 years ago I was able to understand that the os wasn't necessarily the most mature. Version 8? I think it kinda should be.
Also, to my knowledge Android has implemented options a few versions back specifically so that you shouldn't go doing that as a user. Links below:
So I can't help but wonder why is it that we still have to clean the cache? Is it apps badly written? I believe this should no longer be the case.
For comparison I have migrated from OnePlus One directly to OnePlus 5T. I have no comparison for intermediate versions, but the first version... Never had that. Yes I would have like anyone else the occasional network issues on 4G, but never on wifi. While with 5T I have the problem regardless whether I am on wifi or 4G.
Last thing I apologise for the very long message. Also I would like to clarify that this is not intended as a critique, but rather a feedback that I hope will help for future versions (OS & device).
same, was an iPhone user previously coz always had impression that Android was laggy but 5T is so smooth...almost a year still awesome performance I'm getting.
Under the circumstances I would assume I am either too demanding of this phone or we have a problem with various copies of the same device. I hope it is not the later...
The cash cleaning story still seems syfy for me however, but maybe it's just me
