I appreciate your thread as it helps many users suffering from their phone overheating and battery drains.
I've been a fan of chrome bookmark sync as I use Chrome everyday everywhere. But I really want to disable Chrome on Android. The only reason I still keep chrome is because of bookmark sync. Can someone suggest a bookmark sync solution for syncing chrome bookmarks?

Personally myself I don't use the bookmark sync with chrome so I have no answer for you. Though hopefully someone else has an idea for a solution for you. :)

If someone has a deep comparison between Firefox and Chrome browsers, I'm ready to switch to Firefox as my go to browser. By comparison I mean, battery drain, performance, page rendering speed(caching), security, ad blocking(hands down Firefox), multiple tab handling, memory management and so on.

I used to love Firefox, but Firefox just won't keep up. It's slow, poorly optimized, and many sites just don't render properly. The only thing worse than Firefox on desktop is Firefox on mobile! Animations that are smooth on Chrome are about 1 frame per second on Firefox because the code is so poor.

Poor code won't help your battery

Hate to nit-pick, but automatic brightness doesn't keep the proximity sensor on. It does poll the light sensor normally used for the camera.

Prox sensor is used during phone calls and in pocket detection and ambient display. Mainly during calls.

Some people like me who dont wear a watch anymore prefer ambient display to check time by taking the device out of the pocket.

It is useful. I don't use it though. I don't like my screen lighting up every time I get a notification :p

I followed all the tips from Google app onwards. As for Facebook app, I stopped using it 4 years back and my devices have been more battery efficient. I'm using Folio Pro for Facebook from a year or so. It's also a good alternative. I've been using Flamingo from the time it was released as I'm a fan of Sam Ruston 's work (the Dev).

Just checked and found out that both Folio and friendly belong to the same Dev. But Folio is smaller in size (5MB) and friendly is about 12MB

Maybe Folio was like a prototype which the Dev decided to make some seed money out of. [e]1f601[/e]
