I purchased a tempered glass and used it on my One Plus 3T. Now, I started noticing the rainbow effect in the middle of the screen. Is this common for all the One Plus 3T phones or did I make some mistake while fitting the tempered glass on my screen?

Its a common thing with glass screen protectors, in some cases its only noticeable under certain conditions, I have the Orzly tempered glass protector and that has a rainbow effect that only shows up in a noticeable way under fluorescent lighting

Is it a normal tempered glass? the the rainbow effect will be there. Use a curved tempered glass then it will not be there.

I had Orzly for Xperia Z3, it had a problem such as an air bubble appeared when I was charging it. It disappeared with time and the glass really protected and held together. So I thougvt it was very reliable, but like all good things, it met its end, along with Z3 (R. I. P.).

But now on OP3T on both of my glasses I as well had this problem.

Then again, OP3T official tempered glass protector is a joke, as it didn't even cover the whole screen.

Maybe all of us need to contact Orzly or just deal with it? :/

The only tempered glass that works on the 3/3T is the original OnePlus curved tempered glass. No rainbow. No dot matrix. Don't waste your money. Get the OnePlus curved tempered glass.

From what I've seen, the edges of the TGSP cuts off part of the left and right sides of the screen.

It does, but it doesn't really interfere with anything on the screen. I have one on my OP3 and it doesn't bother me at all. You can still see everything on the screen. The amount it cuts off is very, very minimal. It's worth it. I can't deal with the rainbow effect or the dot matrix on the third party TGSP.

I rather try to live with halo rainbow than risk the edges myself.
I thought it was unbearable trying to read and watch videos with the cuts offs, which also created rainbow effects of their own on the sides.

Agreed. To me, the benefit of Tempered Glass outweighs the annoyance of cut offs and the minor rainbow effects..
It really boils down to personal preference.. if you can't stand cutoffs or rainbows, you should probably avoid tempered glass.

You must not have put yours on exactly right. I never had any videos cut off. And there's absolutely no rainbow effect with the OnePlus curved TGSP.
