OP6 storage usage by system > 30GB after Android 9.0 update

    nabeeljay , Oct 13, 2018 :
After updating to Android 9.0, I recently discovered the storage usage by "System" to be 31GBs. Upon some research, I found out that due project treble support, A/B partitions occupy more space.
    But 30GBs is a lot considering I have a 64 GB variant.
Any ideas how to reduce this ?

Do a factory reset if you haven't already. Could be lingering files left over from the upgrade process that needs to be cleaned out.

Thanks for the advice. Does it mean erasing internal storage (personal files) also ?

Yes. As @Budruel said, back up your important data first.

first backup your phone then turn on OEM in developer option...then install costom rom ...you can use beta or stable( from a authorised OnePlus site) as your wish then install it your problem will definitely solve..

FYI, A/B scheme doesn't eat a lot of space compared to A only. infact, Google said they consume about the same size after removing cache.

also, treble doesn't necessarily mean, A/B partition scheme
