OP6T Visual Voicemail

  1. rangerlg Gingerbread Nov 21, 2018

    rangerlg, Nov 21, 2018 :
Just got my 6T yesterday and cannot get Visual Voicemail to activate on T-Mobile. I have tried the built in and it will not activate. I also disabled the built in and tried T-Mobile's app with no luck. Has anyone been able to activate VVM on their 6T? I can call and connect to VM fine.

Make sure all permissions are enabled in the app. There are also two more under Advanced. Even so, this app has a lot of bugs. Also I think you have to be on cell connection when activating it, not Wi-Fi.

I had similar issues and called T-Mobile. They did something in their end to fix it. I did have to turn off WiFi to activate it.

On Unlocked version Native voice mail is built into dialer and there is no need to run another app.
    And work just fine.
Reason behind this free or including in the plan option is not really free.
They are pushing voicemail Data from T-Mobile server to your device so they can have more room for other things.
I'm not really fan of the option that is taking my device hard drive

I spoke too soon. It has since deactivated and will not recativate. The built in VVM has never connected. I always get the attached screenshot.

    Attached.

This is the unlocked version bought straight from OnePlus. When i swipe all the way over, I get the above screenshot.

I will probably go into a TMo store later and see if something is on their end. I am coming from an iPhone which had native VVM and it worked.

Went to T-Mobile this afternoon and I was told that I do not have VVM active on my account. They wanted an extra $15 a month. I told him I had it on my iPhone and I tested it on my wife's iPhone. She was able to receive VVM. I've always had it in the past, so I don't know what may have changed. Will have to investigate further when I get home.

On the phone with CS and Tech Support and still no resolution. They are escalating. Also, checked my account and VVM is included in my plan. Have lodged a complaint against the store sales rep who told me differently. Could it be an issue with the phone?

it could be. I had the same issue with different. I had Care remove the feature and re-add it. also if you're using the T-Mobile visual voicemail app I cleared cache and data.

I uninstalled the TMo app. They told me that it should work without the app.

Its something to do with Tmobile. I have the 6T and the VVM was working fine, until they changed my SIM card, now I get the message for activating VVM. Called CS and they say I have it on my plan.. I have also used it on two Motorolas and an iPhone, on Tmobile without issue, over the last two years. Still waiting for remedy from Tmobile.

I pretty much gave up and never came close to a resolution. We swapped to a different SIM twice and even changed the phone number. Nothing, visual voicemail will not activate even though I have it working on my other lines fine.
