Its a clean flash and conversion to f2fs so no question of data being saved

never format system to ext4 you will bootloop. Only data partition is supposed to be f2fs. cache doesn't make a difference since its hardly used.

was anyone successful with this method?

So, what happens if i do this with a wrong twrp version? Let's say 3.0.2-1 (if it's not the required one lol).

Thx for this... Worked like a charm.... Had a issue because there was no backup folder for twrp, but i made another twrp backup and that created the folder so i could put your backup in it.

#nikhilsnigam I know is to early to tell for sure, but how is your battery life after this update? Yesterday when i upgraded i saw a huge decrease over the course of a few minutes (but i think that is normal due to all the downloading of apps and applying settings), but today i already have a 10% drop in an hour, which is not normal for my use. Android system is the highest consumer, screen is not even on the list....

@nikhilsnigman I have forgot to ask. Can I downgrade to oos 3.2.8 without wiping userdata on your TWRP backup?

Because in original thread stands :
"After upgrading to Android N, you will not be able to directly downgrade back to M builds. Our customer service team has a special build of Android M that will allow you to downgrade, but this will format your device. If you'd like to flash back to M, please contact Customer Support."

I have no such issues here getting excellent backup.
Give it some time to settle or maybe there is some app which keeps running in background.
If the issue persists factory reset data and try again

if you are on ext4fs then you can but if you are on f2fs it will probably wipe all your data because 3.2.8 doesn't support f2fs.

Thanks, Yes I'm on ext4 on all partition I think.
I heard oos 4.0 will automatically format userdata to f2fs. Happens with yours TWRP backup also?
