OPO recent fast battery draining

  1. grahamcurtis1 Cupcake Aug 19, 2017

    grahamcurtis1, Aug 19, 2017 :
About two weeks ago my OPO suddenly started draining when in standby at the rate of 7-8% per hour (instead of the previous 2%). The battery setting shows that the only battery usage is
    Cyanogen Mod System,
    Cyanogen Account,
    Google Play Services,
    Android OS
    - no others - in particular no apps. It looks like systems are working in the background.
    Cyanogen OS 13.1.2-ZNH2KAS3P0-bacon
    Android 6.0.1
The systems update on the phone is showing fully updated

    Any suggestions??

The Cyanogen Account is known for being problematic. Can you try to go to Settings -> Accounts -> Cyanogen and sign out of your account?

Thanks. Unfortunately I can't liaise with my Cyanogen Account. Each time I try I get a communications error message. I believe this may be because CyanogenMod has closed. If I try to long on via a web page on my computer - it can't find the page. Should I remove my Cyanogen mod account?

The Cyanogen Update tracker confirms I have the latest version of CyanogenMod.

Cyanogen is dead, you won't need your account again and there won't be any updates anymore.
Also don't confound Cyanogen Inc., CyanogenOS and CyanogenMod.
Here are some things you should try:
    • Remove your Cyanogen and every account you don't need
    • Close all your apps
    • Reboot your phone
    • Delete all apps you don't need
    • Update all apps via Play Store
    • Wipe cache in storage settings and recovery
    • Delete all files and folders from your phone you don't need anymore with a file manager (ad-folders and so on)

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not very used to solve problems wiping the phone. Maybe I'll try oxygen os, who knows, it may be good enough.

Aren't you able to delete/disable the Cyanogen account from settings, accounts?
Go through all your system apps (apps, three dots, show system apps), maybe you find some Cyanogen tasks that are running in the background. Stop and disable them.

Ok so I also have the same problems you guys are having with an additional issue, i can't even open the Cyanogen account in the setting app, the setting app crashes every time.

i was doing some reading, and from the privacy section you can block the Cyanogen account from access to WIFI. I have done so and will monitor to provide feedback in a few days.

well didn't plan on updating this soon but no luck, after full charge lost 10% battery life in less than 45 mins of standby time. so seems the only way to get out of this might be to remove this OS.

So, I've found way to disable cyanogen mod account.
    here's the proof.
    Screenshot_20171113-025646.png
anyway the problem is a bit simple.
you cant stop it because cyanogen is a adminstator service tk manage your device, to stop the service, you've just need to stop using cyanogen account as your device admin.

    simply use this simple steps.
    1. go to setings
    2. go to apps
    3. click three dots on top most corner, and show system
    4. search for "Cyanogen Account"
    5. click another 3 dots and uninstall
    6. it'll say error, this is an admin blablabla.
    7. just untick, and tick find my phone (by Google App)
    8. repeat "step 5" until you can stop and disable it.

    goodluck!

    Regards,
    Dennis. ECIH.

its quite possible the battery is worn although if it is a software problem try disabling some of cyanogens services, factory reset or install a new rom. factory reset will probably work but cyanogen is dead m8

That means it's time to replace your battery, or upgrade to a new phone.
