After the 2.1.1 upgrade, battery life has degraded by 3-4 hours on my normal usage. Here is what it shows in the battery usage - gmail has started topping the chart after this upgrade. Is it happening for others as well? Any fix?

The photo attached shows a very impressive battery life dude!!!:D:D:D

But even I have the same issue. After 2.1.1 update, the battery life has noticeably gone down. Also, sometimes the phone has started heating up without any heavy usage(It, the heating is between warm and hot) and when heated up, the battery depletes very fast.

If it continues like this, yes I will. But with GMail so far, I was getting 4 more hours till 2.1.1 happened. Maybe shouldn't upgrade that fast.

Do you have an imap or pop personal account linked with the gmail app other than the Google email? Cause I have one and it syncs constantly without a reason. Oxygen is full of bugs so don't be surprised this is happening

By the way, getting like 6 hours of battery compared to 10, and Google Play Services and Gmail are at 35% and 34% respectively.

You can install an Xposed module called 'AppOpsXposed'. the module will allow you to control the individual permissions for an app.

6 Hours from 100% to 0 or 6 hours SOT?

6 hours with barely any screen usage, compared to 10 with medium screen usage. Also, I haven't rooted this phone yet so no xposed - my point was that obviously 2.1.1 broke something and is causing battery drain because I didn't have this problem before the update.

Have you tried to wipe/clear cache from recovery?

I was so angry with this update I decided to flash AK kernel on my OPT. AK kernel does a good job in battery optimisation. I would recommend to try it.

You must have a pop3 mail account syning every 5 minutes or so, change it to syn every hour and you will find the battery life increase drastically.

It syncs every thirty minutes and settings haven't been changed since before the last update - and I don't get a ton of email.
