Oreo - Change WiFi frequency band?

    Hey guys,

It seems as if there is no option in Oreo any more to change the WiFi frequency band. Have I gone blind or is that true? Deleting the WiFi and setting it up again also did not provide the respective option. Ever since Nougat, my WiFi drops regularly on the phone (and just on the phone). The only way to stabilize it was to switch between frequency bands. Thus, this option is really kind of a necessity for me. Someone got any advice?

You've not gone blind, I can't find it either, but I don't tend to use the 2.4GHz band.

Alright, thanks for the clarification! For me, it seems to depend on the specific WiFi network. In some the 2.4 GHz band is better and in others it's the 5 GHz band. After the Oreo Update, I'm stuck on 5 GHz.

I have the same problem. Ever since nougat there hasn't been an option to call anonymously either.

An update fixing these thing would be appreciated greatly!

-An option per sim-card slot to select anonymous calling

I was about to ask about this too, I don't like that I cannot select which WiFi band to use

This is really annoying, my WiFi now drops regularly again. Why would the possibility to choose the frequency band be removed in the first place? I can't make any sense of such a decision.

This is not only annoying but frustrating to find this option no longer exists, what was OnePlus thinking? please bring this feature back asap as with a unreliable wifi, I found solace in able to switch to 5Ghz manually!!! :((

Its been disabled allready in Android 7.0 at least in the stock version. Had a familiar issue on a Nexus device so i had to disable the 5.0 GHz frequency on my router.

Before the Oreo Update, it was possible to manually select the frequency band in the menu. Now it just takes one band and and stays on it without the possibility to change it. Your picture doesn't show the respective option either.

No, it was definitely possible before the Oreo Update. You just had to click on your WiFi and there was the option to select between "automatic", 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz. Now it seems to be stuck on the automatic selection - which is really bad when you were having problems with stability. As I already said, this problem only affects my phone, so it is certainly not an issue of the WiFi/router itself.

Hi, OnePlus need to add the frequency changer option back. I'm having so many wifi issues now. It seems that the frequency got stuck in 5GHz and now i'm losing connectivity. Before the Oreo update, i was able just to change the frequency and get everything working. It was stable. Also, my OnePlus 5 does not like a network that contains 2.4 and 5Ghz option combine. it keeps dropping connection. Now, i had to change my router settings to divide the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and keep changing networks which is a pain. Please fix.

Hmm ok, i thought we were talking about wi-fi issues and connectivity since i can't change to 2.4GHz either and that be the main problem. And don't take me by fool here, tho. I already did it Wipe cache, Factory reset, and i am seriously considering to downgrade to Nougat, since i didnt saw any reply by oneplus team yet to the multiple threads already made for wi-fi problems.

    Best regards.
