Oreo Update was the worst

I use a OP5t. Before the Oreo update the phone was running smoothly and never had any issues . Post Oreo update the phone starts to heat when mobile data is switched on (during gaming) and most of the apps suddenly shit down and worst of all the fingerprint scanner isn't working properly ... I end up removing the stored fingerprints and add them all again and after 2 days the same thing happens. NEVER HAD ANY OF THESE ISSUES BEFORE :/

It will be better in the next updates. Be patient. It was what happened with my OnePlus 3.

    First of all, the basics.

Oreo update was a major update, i.e, We are talking about changing the core system itself with a new version of android.

Under such circumstances, it is always recommended to do a clean install, as in after the update, do a factory reset and start from the scratch.

Over the years, I've owned all sorts of android devices (more than 20. ) and with every major update, I've followed this suit, never had any hiccups.

This is my advice, backup your important data, use OnePlus switch if you wish, then do a complete factory reset.

Trust me, you'll thank me later.

As a rule of thumb, first iteration of any software is bound to have small drawbacks, this is to be expected. but, as OnePlus has shown us in the past, they will improve their software with every update. I ask you to be patient and understand that creating an update for a phone is no small feat, it takes hours of hardwork and corrections. The more time you give them, the better the end result will be.

    Peace.

It automatically restarts while playing such games and apps which take more memory. I just bought it yesterday and update it to Android 8.0.0 and oxygen os (5.0.4). Any solutions ? or anyone else is facing the same problem ?
Geekbench 4 , PUBG and sometimes right after booting when i go into settings it just stuck there like in other apps and starts rebooting

I updated to 8.0, and did NOT do it via factory reset, and my phone is superb. It barely uses any battery, never heats up, is lightning fast, and well, I have zero complaints in this regard.

And Oh, how gorgeous my Lava Red is! :)
