yes, you'll still receive ota updates however you'll always get a full update package (1.5gb+) instead of smaller partial ota packages.

    Then it's no.
Or maybe you don't know what OTA really means.

OTA cannot take place over a rooted device.

Interesting. I am unlocked but not rooted. Until recently, I was receiving OTA updates but last time, I had to ho through full update. Go figure.

Yes you can update Stable AND Beta OOS via OTA while Rooted and also with an Unlocked Bootloader.

The only thing you have to do after the OTA completes is re-Root (if you were Rooted that is). Your Bootloader should remain unlocked, if not just unlock it again.

I did this while on Stable when I first got my OP3T and after I switched over to Beta.

The OTA even prompts you with something along the lines of "Root is detected. The update will unroot your device".

OnePlus is one of the few companies that allow you to unlock the Bootloader and Root your device without consequences.

    What are you talking about?
How an OTA can be applied over a rooted device, which has an altered system, because of the root.

Because OnePlus allows it. It will rewrite the entire System. Pretty much it downloads the full update and not just a partial update that normally happens with an OTA.

Also, 99% of Root is done Systemless, hence why people use Magisk or Systemless SU. The old days of Rooting to the System are pretty much over, has been for a few months after Magisk was created.

    The update failed....
