    Hi
I am trying to mount a Seagate 320gb external HDD with NTFS file system but I am unable to do that. In cm file manager I found nothing after switching to root access mode(USB drive is blank).my device is unlocked and rooted. Paragon mounter with total file commander do work but copy speed is really slow. What's most surprising my Kingston 16gb pendrive with NTFS file system is working without any software. If you have a custom ROM or kernal or any firmware teak that enable to detect a large NTFS drive natively is always be helpful. Or a link to previous thread on this forum regarding this issue is always appreciated.

Hard drives require power source from laptops they generally source some power.
In otg like pny they don't have any power source. Hence the issue.

Hard drives do work using a mounter like paragon. Power is not a problem.
    Thanks anyway

Is your hard disk powered or portable. Externally powered HD will not have any problems

My HDD is portable and its using device's power. In fact I can explore its data using paragon NTFS Mounter and total commander file manager but in this case the copy/write speed is really slow.
    Thank you

Use an externally power hdd as our phone is insuficiemt to provide power to an large hdd also there google it as you may find some tweaks that can force some extra power from your phone to the hdd

My 64 gb sandisk dual usb drive did not work on OPO but 16 gb sandisk dual usb drive did. I think 64 gb sandisk dual usb drive has to formatted to FAT32.

    Bro,
NTFS is a proprietary file system developed by Microsoft, as such the license to use NTFS is with microsoft and you will notice that any device which comes free has FAT32 file system. to enable your device to read NTFS file system try app from play store called paragon. that will help you.

any device which does not pay $$ to microsoft cannot enable NTFS.
