I don't know about the technical side of this. But connecting a larger HDD will make any power power problems? I mean I know that a normal PC USB can provide the juice enough to run. But can the phone provide that?

Yes it should because it uses too much juice. What I meant was is the phone USB can provide the enough power to the HDD to run on full power.

Did you connected an external power source to the HDD or just powered it via USB?

I used a hard drive that is an external drive. The drive is powered by its own power supply.

In today's world every external drive larger than 2 TB is likely to include, and need, it's own power supply.

huh...huh... I know that it's an external HDD. It should be. internal can't connect directly. no offence.

just wanted to know that the phone can run without problems with juicing up the HDD also.
