See if clearing cache of the Outlook app works.

Yes, I too get the similar warning but not always, it's random.

I simply kill outlook from multi tasking windows, by holding & swiping up to bring the multi tasking recent apps windows & killing outlook.

    The warning goes away.

I would relaunch the app and keep on using until the next time when it pops up.

    Thanks.

Outlook may be doing something in the background. I too get it but it goes away on its own after sometime. As it is Microsoft app, I don't mind it.

For me it's popping up too often .. it's really irritating . Post that it says app is not responding .

Never had this issues in past though

It is not too often for me, so very much within acceptable levels. Also, never got the not responding error so far.

Have you configured multiple email accounts in your Outlook app?

Is it a Microsoft account or some other account like Yahoo or others?

I have 2 Microsoft accounts set up, and don't have this problem.

I'm assuming your app is up-to-date.

It’s a long time ago since I used Outlook on a phone but is there some settings to change the time interval to check the servers for emails?

No, it uses Push notification by default.

What if you turn off the sync contacts in your office 365 account just to test if this is the culprit?
