  1. Rohit_vs_94 , via OnePlus 9 Pro Stellar Black , Apr 20, 2021 :
Anyone having serious battery drain issues overnight? I'm having 10 - 11% drain without doing anything and all battery optimization is turned on as well.

I am observing that overnight battery drain on my device is just 4%

I have too observed 8-10% battery drain when i got the device first, but i performed some actions learning from the community forum as given here:

    1. Do hard reset once and then boot the phone. After half an hour do factory reset once again.

    2. Drain the battery to 0 and then charge it fully. After it gets to 100% leave for 2-3 hours in charging mode.

    3. Repeat the action in point 2 3-4 times over a week.

    4. Update to latest os version that you might have received by now

    5. Shut wifi and bluetooth scanning

    6. Deactivate google assistant.

    7. Deactivate flash screen from edges.

    8. Keep auto brightness on.

    9. Install a ram booster ( i prefer Augustro Ram booster)

    10. Use your phone in zen mode😀

I hope you will see an improvement in battery life. By the way, i am getting around 6 hours SOT with heavy usage.

Try disabling cloud services apps from settings if you dont use oneplus cloud. It fixed the overnight battery drain for me.

    Hello,

You n I doing nothing doesn't translate to the Phone doing anything.

Even when idle, phone is doing following,

    1. SIM Cards are connected to the network, depending on the signal strength, your SoC along with your data modem is working to keep the connection active

    2. If data is on, so modem is constantly working on data connection.

    3. Weaker the signal strength, harder the work so more consumption.

    4. If you are using Dual SIM, then it's double the work.

    5. If WiFi is active, so there too your SoC & radio Modems are working.

    6. If GPS/Bluetooth/NFC is on, once again phones hardware is working to keep those connection active or searching is on waiting for pairing request for paired devices.

    7. All the apps are designed to do their background activities like update, backup, syncing at night hours. So they need the CPU & data connection to work, download/upload etc.

    8. Play Store may be downloading / unpacking & updating apps, that too needs hardware resources.

So it's not exactly idle time for the phone.

It's normal for any smartphone (similar battery size) to consume anywhere between 0.5% to 1.5% per hour for the sleeping idle time. Some times it more due to background work or network activities & some days may be it's less.

Turn everything (Radio signal) off, kill all background apps, turn of flight mode & now your are close to actually idle time. Battery consumption at this state may be in line with our expectations.

    Thanks.

Download the killapps application from Google playstore. It still has apps running in background. If you like purchase the killapps pro from Google playstore, it help by getting rid of apps in background. The oneplus devices still has apps secretly running draining the battery even if it shows no apps are presently open.
