It looks like it's the second patch.

I just flashed it and reran the stagefright detector. and it passed every test.

I am not sure how reliable https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zimperium.stagefrightdetector that app is. but before the patch it would say my device was vulnerable. Now it says it's not. So I'm assuming this is the fixed patch. :)

According to Helen, this does not contain the latest patch: https://forums.oneplus.net/posts/12505434/

Check the date of the last update for the app. If it's not within a week then it probably only checks for the first bug and not the latest.

I use Lookout Security as my mobile security, it's relatively premium and secure compared to some of the anti-virus apps on the Play Store. I've never even heard of Zimperium, but considering none of the more reputable names have done anything, I'd personally use Lookout. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout.stagefrightdetector

I can't see any difference, feels as smooth as before, haven't had any crashes, lags etc, so i think its running stable

I just ran that scanner on my OPO with the patch Helen released and it says my phone is not vulnerable. For testing sake I loaded the app on my LG G4 as well and my LG G4 is vulnerable.

I thought as much. I just felt that oneplus have not been impressive with their software and support in general so they deserve no thanks. They are supposed to deliver software updates without us having to beg for it, moreso they are running near stock android.

Helen said the patch does not fix the latest things so the app must only check for the first bug and not the latest fixes.

Google said most devices use ASLR which should protect devices anyway so don't worry too much.

Yes, I've got the LG G3 (Android 5.0 TWN-XX) running Lookout Stagefright Detector and it's said it's vunerable. I think it's down to personal preference as to what detector you want to use. LG are usually quite quick with their updates, so I'm holding out some hope for LG.
