Did you check the MD5 before trying the flashing? I did on my system before trying to flash.

Good job on staying up to date with the Stagefright stuff.

Will you incoporate any other fixes into the update or literally just the patch?

I was interested in seeing how a smaller phone company with its own customized version of Android would deal with updates...and this is a good sign it seems. The larger, slow moving companies take forever with updates, if they ever come around. Another win for OnePlus and its users. Looking forward to see how the Oxygen updates work when Android M is out for the masses.

I'm not sure how to check MD5 values (I suppose a quick google can tell me) I copied the MD5 file on the phone along with the zip file and TWRP warned me with incorrect MD5 value for the zip file, so it was 100% my own responsible for a bricked phone as I just ignored the warning and installed the zipfile anyway.

But after I restored my phone from a bricked state, I succesfully installed OxygenOS 1.0.2 without problems (I still got the incorrect MD5 values again, but this time it didn't cause in failure)

Apparently it worked for me to only install the 1.0.2 - how come?

You do realize most larger companies have already patched stagefright, right? Hell, most other companies have already updated their phones to 5.1. Guess who's still waiting...

You also can't really call this is proper update when I am required to dirty flash my phone to use it. The larger companies have all done OTA updates.

We probably won't start seeing Oxygen OTAs until the 1 is updated to OOS 2.0
    Reasonable request

Guys you realize Cyanogen is the OS on the OnePlus One right? If you want to try Oxygen OS then you have to manually flash it. Hopefully in the future they'll have OTA's but for the moment OPO is a Cyanogen OS phone.

More than likely, once Oxygen OS 2.0 is available for the One we'll start seeing the OTAs for it.That's my feeling anyway. Just have to wait and see like everything else.....

Because almost nobody is running it, the vast majority is still on Cyanogen OS or any other custom rom.
