Do someone experience the following issue after having applied the last patch?
    - photos folder completely wiped, no more photo anymore
    - Google photo freeze and shut down after 5".
    System slowness in general.

    Backup your Download Folder

Delete the data and cache of downloads app and download manager. This may fix the problem.

Q: How to access the downloads and download manager app?
    A:
    Step 1: Unlock your phone.
Step 2: Open app drawer and locate settings app / bring down the QS panel and click on the gear icon.
Step 3: Click on the search tab on top of the settings app.
Step 4: Type "downloads" and then click on the app. Clear it's cache and storage which is under the storage tab.
Step 5: Type "download manager" and then click on the app. Clear it's cache and storage which is under the storage tab.

How are you then backing anything up if you're telling them to clear it?

You backup the folder first to another source, PC, Laptop wherever. And then follow the steps in the order I suggested.

Maybe, maybe not, let's wait for his reply if he tries it and see if it worked or not.

Also, if they are backed up through Google Photos, then they will be stored online an accessible on the phone or another device, laptop, PC etc.
