unfortunately this is new "feature" of android pie. Default volume buttons are for media volumes and not ring volume.

    really?? [e]1f602[/e][e]1f602[/e]

but seriously i want same vol... it was very useful for me.
same vol button means giving drop down option so that we can manage diff sound for diff purposes.

Was holding off on installing the Open Beta 1 just to ensure that there aren't any deal breaking bugs. Installed it today and seems like it is rock stable for me. Can't really notice any issues with the apps I use and even the bank apps work fine despite Play store saying that the device is not play protect certified. Notice a few bugs here and there, and reported which ever ones are likely related to OSS.

One thing I noticed and really appreciated is the way the status bar icons are handled now. Prior to this update only a select few icons were displayed to the right of the notch and even when there was space left, many icons were simply not displayed. Many would know this as the "missing VoLTE icon" bug and to me it was a little annoying due to the fact that work profile icon wouldn't show up. My work profile is synced to a GSuit account and I use many apps both for professional and personal requirements. The lack of that briefcase icon 2ould confuse me at times, I won't know which profile the app belongs to. I reported this on OSS 5.1.6 and was told that this was by design. I'm very happy that this isn't the case anymore. Also glad that the VoLTE icon can be turned off. But just noticed that the Bluetooth icon is missing from there even though it is turned on in the settings. Any one else noticed this?

It does go back to the lock screen... Try clearing the cache in recovery...

    Bharadwaj Swaminathan

Try clearing the recovery cache... If the bug still persists, report here.. https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/

    MF117

Do it from recovery, it's the better way.

    MF117

So we don't have recovery mode to do the wipes? that's weird

    MF117

No no, I do all cache wipe from the recovery mode. I know that we don't have the option in the storage, but we can wipe the cache in the recovery mode, right?. Pardon if it's off-topic

    MF117

I hope so, for me it's unpardonable remove that option. Even though OnePlus manage quite good the cache, sometimes it's useful (and necessary) to wipe the cache and do all the wipes

It will take probably years to get people to understand that wiping cache in recovery doesn't do anything anymore.

People for some time now we have the A/B partitioning for seamless updates. This needed a redesign of the partitioning of Android. For OP this mend that the whole cache partition is remove, deleted, meaning not there anymore!

This means that wiping something that is not there is USELESS.

you can only clean cache for one app at the time in system.... apps.

I'm sure people don't believe, but this can be read all over the internet if you try to search and learn

one example, already written for Oreo, https://www.google.nl/amp/s/forum.x...noobs-guide-to-b-partitions-op6-t3816123/amp/

I too am a little frustrated by the new volume implementation as there are situations where you quickly reduce the volume but not fully silence or change to vibrate. But I also like the new location of the slider as it is a lot easier to use. I hope OnePlus goes a hybrid route with this change if they do make the change. Keep the new location of the slider as it is much more accessible during one hand usage, but somehow figure out a way to add a quick pop out like the Media Output option in the new implementation. Will certainly report it if I don't see it already reported.

Well, everyday you learn something new and it's good to know that now there's a new way to clean the cache from an app, even though if you're wiping cache to a lot of apps could take a little bit longer, but that could be very rare.

I read the thread but not the update, thanks a lot!

Shocked to know that my one plus 6 is defeated by redmi note 5 pro in downloading pubg mobile. Note pro download this game 10 min earlier than me over the same network. Really disappointed
