I don't see anything fun if you have a product with software problems and you are challenged by the manufacturer with another new product.

Loving Android 10 but since the update, I cannot save new contacts on my phone. I get the message "you have disabled a required permission"

I have checked all contact and contact storage permissions and they are allowed. I wiped cache and restarted and still nothing. Any ideas?

Trying to upgrade to OS 10 on the Sprint OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, I downloaded the ROM, moved it to the root of my storage but when I go to the system update I am not seeing any menu to choose a local update. Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

I made it 16 pages into this thread and this is the first reference to my issue. I'm not able to read all 353 pages, so please forgive me if this has been addressed. I am on the T-Mo varient of OnePlus 7 Pro and did get SIM Unlock via XDA. However, I do not see how to manually do an update. The only option I have is to OTA, which obviously won't work. No "Install local" option. Can someone PLEASE explain how I can upgrade to the Beta? Much appreciated!! :):D

So my findings with Beta-1, after doing a full wipe without restoring anything is that I still run into the following problems
    • Delayed or missed notifications
      • On my second SIM, it's not rare that I can get a call and the phone will never ring, and I'll get notified of a voicemail 10-30 minutes after
    • I received a few texts that did not notify (both with stock messaging app and google app)
    • Network connectivity. I can be at home within 20 feet of my WIFI router and I'll get intermittent WIFI. I'll see WIFI fully disconnected or with a ! next to it
    • Not sure if it's in my head or not, but there seems to be more delay with bluetooth. When watching a video with dialog, the delay between the mouth moving and me hearing what the person is saying seems more noticeable.
    • Battery life is all over the place, sometimes it feels just like on stable, sometimes I'll lose 30% of battery over an hour without using my phone much. Google play services is up there but nothing else sticks out as possible source for the drain.
    • Theme changes throughout the day for reasons I don't know. I know android auto changes the theme but I've seen the theme change after a reboot as well.
    • Auto brightness is all over the place. Oh it's sunny outside, let me lower brightness to 10% for you.
    • Proximity sensor. I've spent entire calls with the screen on, active, and just waiting me to cheek-hangup on my wife to have me in trouble.
The worse for me are missing notifications. I have my dash charger at work, I can deal with theme randomness, not much about Q that are deal breakers but missing notifications is huge. Missing calls or texts can have rather significant consequences so each and every time I try Q, and it has beet at least 10 times, I always come back to Pie because of that problem.

I have a feeling we will see Beta-2 this week though and perhaps some of those issues will be fixed.

if your sim unlocked already your next step is to switch over to international firmware
that can also be done through xda and is super simple. just make sure once the files are downloaded, extract everything in the same folder, or the msm tool may not recognize your phone. after you are on international firmware, the easiest way for you to get on the open beta would be for you to download the oxygen updater in the play store.... or you can download the file and flash manually. either way it's up to you. just read everything twice, and if you don't understand something ask there are lots of knowledgeable people here and on xda developers

If you are familiar with XDA, go there in the OnePlus 7 pro section and download the MSM tool. That will completely wipe your phone and install the international OS. There might be other ways but I have not seen them here.

Had to flash the android pie back, more and more bugs were popping out every single day.
Noticed a bug where the phone would not recognize that it is in landscape mode, and whatever I did would not flip the screen. Slowness with Fingerprint reader, issues with color and notifications.
