Oxygen OS Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro

    Update:
    To be more specific, this with chromecast is with Chromecast built-in and Android 11 as I go thr same result on my pixel 2.

    Cast my screen to my chromecast built-in device turns the tv screen black.... Pauses, and then ends the casting session.

    Battery drain is still bad... I used to get over a day on my OP8P now it doesn't even get me to the end of the day.

    I have had the same message repeatedly. I decided that there was not much wrong with gallery without the update so chose to ignore it. Maybe it will be fixed one day

    Not only the gallery also in installing the large files same problem repeats

    Not experienced the problem with large files. Only Gallery.

    Do you happen to have major drain from Play Store?
    At first I thought that Play Store itself was the cause ... But the most recent versions of Play Store works better with a newer Play Services (current beta).

    You can temporary join beta and update it or stay there if you like. Alternatively update via apkmirror.

    Wish I had a second device with this issue... 😉
    I have not found a permanent and certain solution for this. I can only point to the recommended solution suggested by Google. But it annoys me that those tips does not seem to help.

    Thd fun thing is that I found a reason to check out Aurora Store. Can be a alternative solution than just wait and hope for a solution för those that have the update issues.

    I've worked through the Google checklist, thought of smart lock myself and under developer options is one that is described as keeping screen on whilst charging. I thought that meant unlocked as well as on - but it does not.

    Like you would not put Aurora on my main device and don't have a secondary Android device.

    What I find so annoying is that feedback is a one-way street with oneplus. An acknowledgment of the issue existing would be helpful. It's not as if I'm done in reporting the issue

    I am a G play services beta tester and it doesn't seem to the issue. I have been keeping an eye one any potential troublesome apps but I cant seem to pin it down to a specific app. Thanks for the suggestion!

    No specifics... Possibly related to what they upgraded from and the last time they wiped or something.
    Edit: BTW... Was thinking on the update issue with Play Store.
    Drain can be tricky. 4G or 5G and how all apps behave. Network stability.
    A full analyze with BetterBatteryStats should show something. But unstanding the results may not always be that easy.

    Network related stuff seems more common on IN2025 though. I hear about many Indian issues too. But it's hard to know how many it works well for since happy users usually don't come here just to say how well everything works.

    Is it that famous issue when on WiFi at the same time? Or it happens regardless? This issue is so common that even Textra developed a WiFi fix for MMS.

    A other issue that seems to happen for many is that leaving home and disconnecting from WiFi does not auto connect to mobile data of some reason.
    Does not happen for me either.

    My OP8 is running on Beta2 now. Some issues are there
    1. Screen auto brightness is not correctly picking up, as it ends up setting display brightess near middle of the rang e always.
    2.Some cases scrren is auto rotating(when auto rotate option is off)
