There are people who dig Aod for what it offers say for example when you don't have a notification led just to see if u have any new notifications . People who like looking at their phones for no reason just to see how much time has passed , double tapping or lifting the phone is an extra step which can be avoided with Aod . Third doesn't it make your phone look cooler. . finally for all those who like to save battery there is an option to shut it off completely . So it's a win win situation. Moreover u have a fast charging even if it doesn't last long .

You'll have to manually install it if you want the open beta update

I understand that completely. This is the very reason I said, personally I don't like it.
I don't like to sacrifice a lot of battery for a feature I'm not using. I do use ambient display, and that is fine for me.
On the other hand people who use AOD have to understand, that nothing is free, they have to expect worse battery life. No way around it, it's physics.

Have you reported it via the feedback tool? I sent a report myself about loosing access to Smart 5G and auto 2/3/4/5G mode on one of my simcards.

Yup it's in early stages of development and battery drain is the major reason why OnePlus avoided implementation of AOD for so long. Good to see that they are adding more features to ambient display . I was expecting more UI changes to go on with their new approach guess we have have to wait some more for it to happen

I see other phone manufacturers implementing the aod with so many animations... can't imagine how much battery they are losing on this

Currently investigating an Play Store issue. And that affects the battery. If I can find a solution for that I should something decent to compare with eventually. But I must have a day free from work too. Because when I work the bad singnal environment and fishy WiFi networks, work usage and all that affects it negatively. My peaks happen when home and not working [e]1f609[/e]

I don't want to try it lol.
It's simply something I'm not interested in.
But I already can foresee the flood of cupcakes creating "battry drian" threads.

Wait till it comes to nord and all the other devices..
People are already cribbing about battery drain.
Imagine the chaos once AOD is live for everyone 😂

so user like us who now in Beta 2 will have to wipe data when we moved to stable version once it release next month?
can't we keep our data intact? because it really takes times to restore it again

given the recent reviews of the app in the Play store, I think it has more issues than just A11 (though there is a review that says it is not working with A11). Lots talking of crashing on launch with latest build.
