Is it worth switching from OP6 to OP8 Pro given all the display issues going around. Many trustable reviewers are saying the black line at the top is because of the camera hole and it is a hardware defect. Should I wait for OP 8T instead? Atleast OP would figure out solutions for all of these and future display problems.

The fact that 5G does not even appear on that list suggests that the phone is not capable of receiving it, i.e. The SIM doesn't recognise it. Even if no 5G signal was present, I'd expect to see 5G as an option, if the phone has the ability. I'm sure someone has a better understanding of it.

Anyone with broken AR after this update?
For example, AR Ruler app, or Pokemon GO AR+
It seems the apps can no longer detect planes. Wonder if my sensors are uncalibrated, but I already troubleshooted that

Can anyone confirm this? Would a sim change fix this?

Its a new phone thats why, otherwise it wont be a priority after they launch the 8T. I bought the oneplus TV and really regretting it everyday. Its been months of complaining and still no solution, https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/issue-app-updates-removed-after-restart.1200282/

In low brightness I have the green tint problem ( still after I upgraded to 10.5.5 ) , I received my device yesterday and already have issues.
The battery drains like my 2 years old OnePlus 6T, pretty disappointed not to see an improvement in this department. This happens with my device set to 60hz and 1080p, only with wifi turned on, everything else turned off. Hope these will be fixed with an update.

Has the 6T better battery than the 8 pro?..:(:(
On 60hz and 1080p op8pro should be better!..

The 8Pro does not necessarily have better battery on FullHD+. In my understanding the screen will always light up the same pixels as with QHD+ enabled where the screen of the 6 only has to light up a FullHD+ Screen. Hence the Screen Consumption of the 6 is less than the 8Pro. If you keep the 8 Pro at FullHD the GPU needs less power so you can save some battery with that but that only really seems to make a difference in gaming or graphic heavy apps. The Power Consumption of the screen stays more or less the same from what I've read so far

please correct me if I'm wrong

Power consumption remains the same between qhd and:eek: full hd??

  17. AndiTheBassman , via OnePlus 8 Pro , Apr 29, 2020 :
Regarding the screen from what I read it roughly stays the same since all Pixels still light up. There might be a little change in Consumption but not really worth mentioning it seems. If the screen has a resolution of max FullHD there are less pixels that need lighting up so it consumes less power

That being said the processing needs way more power to render a picture in QHD with 120hz so in that regard it will definitely save some power.

So the battery will last longer if you keep the phone at FullHD 60hz but it won't have the same effect as if you had a phone, that could only do FullHD 60Hz

    Hope I could Help

I run my 8Pro at FullHD 120hz and the battery is one of the best I had in recent years

Digi said that they officially only support the 5g phones on their website (Samsung note 10+, Xiaomi mi mix 3, Huawei mate 20x). Also 5g area is extremely limited.

Some suggest that putting sim in a compatible phone will activate it if 5g is available.
