5t shipped 21 November 2017 with the 6 in may 2018 but yes I agree the support timelines on Android phones are generally rubbish 3 version updates and then 2 years security would be great especially as the cost of them is steadily moving to Apple levels.

ideally stop releasing new phones so often and take that development power over to keeping existing ones running , however for a company that needs to keep making money this doesn't add up. once you have bought it what revenue do they have

The cost of supporting the phone is factored into the price, and I think this episode makes it obvious that OP's low prices are at the cost of basic software support.

Look at the hundreds of pages of complaints about the Google app breaking on the 5/5T. That has been ongoing since February, and there's not even an acknowledgement from the company about it.

If Apple or Samsung had that issue and it rolled on for months, it would be international news.

Let's see in 2 years if the OP8 has been similarly abandoned.

Like I said I agree with you the support lifespan of android phones need work but my response to you about the support costs being built in is then surely part of the reason the purchase cost was lower than the competition was that they didn't plan to support it for more than 3 years. Caveat emptor as they say

Updated to the new hotfix. The call recording bug is been fixed now in this update. There's still an issue with bluetooth headset, the sound comes patchy but when used in other handset it comes out good. There's some lag in the animation while opening and closing apps. Battery seems fine till now.

As far as I know there should be a VoWifi/wifi calling option there but it's not showing there in my network settings. I'm using Airtel SIM and I had that option on OS 9 Beta 35 but it's not present for me in this update. Any suggestions how to get that?

I'm not on the hotfix build but on the previous Android 10 stable build released in May end.

The call recording feature works properly as expected only occasionally. I would say only 20% of the times the recorded call plays back correctly.

I have provided the feedback to OnePlus on this as a bug . Let's see and hope they fix this in upcoming updates
