I meant after switching and transfering your data to a new phone. Just play a bit around with it a bit instead of putting it into a drawer.
I don't use banking apps but yes that might be a problem. Netflix and other DRM streaming apps are problematic as well on custom ROMs.

It's not off topic. People move on. He has thought about his future and we should congratulate him and wish him luck. this is something every OnePlus 5 user must be thinking about

It's somewhat tragic that I chose a custom ROM over OOS right now because OOS is REALLY GOOD. I had some Samsungs before and almost every available custom ROM on my 5T.
I always returned to OOS because it combines the features and the customizability of a custom ROM with the stability and reliability of a vendor ROM. The classic gesture control of pie was just awesome. I would return immediately if OP would release a stable and secure version of OOS10.

You did a right choice. SE is a nice phone, but over all it has a REAL and serious software support.
Oneplus has just made fun of us.

The topic is that ...OnePlus 5/5t update is (supposedly) top priority for the company
    So...when we still haven't recd the update....then that mister....is what is 'off-topic' !!!!

the worst thing I could do OP is do nothing!

not hearing the claims and messages of your clients, it is your death sentence

the customers you let down are the worst advertisement!

Each of them will be in charge of making known the lack of respect they suffered from OP

it has been read that OP wants to stop being a cult brand and become massive.

    bad way to start !!!

1 Month now for 5T making 3 years, hope Oneplus says anything. If they fail to deliver a proper update, they are braking their word twice. Promised us Android 10 and failed. Now they promised they are working on it. Let's see.

I don't own a 5 so I can not say much about that model but as far I know lineage os officially supports it. That would be a good start.
In any case first start reading here
It's not as easy as just downloading and installing
Since I own a 5t I can say that unfortunately lineage is not officially maintained right now. There is however an unofficial version.
Starting point would be as well
I personally use AOSiP right now which as a Android 10 ROM still got October security patch.
Right now most custom ROMs are in the transition phase between android 10 and 11 which means that the 10s won't get any or only few updates anymore and the 11s are still in early development. They are not fully stable and feature packed yet but already worth a try.

I am running Android 11 on my 5T thanks to the Derpfest alternative Rom available on XDA. Although still in alpha version, I use it constantly without any problem and I would not change my phone at this time.

So i deleted a few apps that i hardly use n my sot went up by an hour to around 7 hrs
But still... we do need EIS and AOD(as compensation in oos10 itself) and the bug fixes of course
