There are newer devices in queue and it's holiday time. The reason why they released an incomplete update us because oneplus 5 users were growing very restless

After 5-6 months without an update, some users facing many issues on 10 while others were still stuck on 9 don't think I can blame them

Try to Optimize the phone, this helps with Lag, Heat, Battery Drain and much more.

Clear your recent apps, also set 3rd party apps to Optimize in Settings Battery, only leave the ones you need run in the background or to notify you such as messages, email, Google Services, oneplus etc on Intelligent control.

Android may take a few days to optimize those apps after setting them to Optimize depending on your usage of those apps. A10 has its own learning curve.

After a couple of days, Check App battery stats at about 50% and see if there are particular apps using more resources than necessary.

    Hi all.
I've been following this thread and the previous Android10 thread for some time (probably have read every post!!).

I've been on Android 9, and a few weeks ago was prompted to download the 10.0.1 update. I had put this off, due to all the issues reported, but I required the latest security updates in order to access my work email.

My experience in a nutshell - I've suffered no problems, no noticeable battery drain.

    Background:
    • Using a OnePlus 5 (not rooted) on Android 9
    • Live in the UK
    • Received official update notification on my phone a few weeks ago (an update straight to 10.0.1)
    • Finally updated 2 days ago due to needing security patches
    • After updating:
      • I immediately did a "wipe cache partition" (so there was some very short term patchy lag which always happens after I've done a wipe cache partition).
      • I then went through all the new system settings just to make sure things were OK given new settings in Android 10 (e.g. location access etc). Probably no meaningful changes that would impact my update experience.
    Summary:
    • Over last 2 days, I've found no issues or bugs whatsoever, including:
      • No noticeable increase in slowness
      • No noticeable increase in battery drain
      • No lost files
      • No wifi issues
    • Also for what little I have tried these apps
      • No camera issues
      • No issues with phone - BUT I use official google Phone app for this (I installed via an APK) and not the default oneplus phone dialler app
    • Before anyone asks - unfortunately I cannot comment on Volte or Call recording as I do not use these features and not even sure I have them (but for anyone who does use these features- perhaps try using 3rd party apps as an interim solution if that is maybe possible until Oneplus fix your phones)
I'll give it a week or two and will certainly update this forum if I do find any bugs or other issues .

It is early days yet but hopefully this gives some people who have not yet upgraded some hope that you *might* be safe to run the update.

Any offers on battery replacement? OnePlus removed the "50% off on battery replacement" offer, so now I'm reluctant regarding changing the battery.
How much did it cost you to get the battery replaced?
