Thats a bad idea. Security patch updates are vital to protect the device.

Agree, same for the camera, at least for me, the quality has dropped a lot since Android 9 and still there was not even close to other phones such as iPhone, Huawei or Samsung. Now camera quality (I'm talking about both photoes and videos) is closer to a mid range phone than to a flagship, I've recently seen some pictures taken with my "old" Mate 20 Pro and are much much better, the Mate 20 Pro made my 7 Pro look bad...
The sensor itself it's good but without software support and optimization the quality is poor, specially in videos and using the zoom camera (which is actually NOT a 3X physical zoom!)

Of course it's not hard to backup data but when I restore them will they be in the same exact position? I mean I have about 5500 photos on my phone, if I backup and restore them will they remain in cronological order or they will all have the same date, the one in which I restore them on my phone? I did it on my Note 8 and everything was randomly placed on my phone and with more than 5k photoes could be a big problem, try to find a certain photo without any logical order...
I've talked about photos but I mean all the data, PDF, Word files and so on

not so hard.....all your settings in apps are gone. I have a bout 100 apps on my phone and let's say 50 off them needs setting them up like it was before. it takes me at least 14 days to come across a setting that is not set when I use my device. it is not the way to reset to factory settings every time an update gets released. I call this crippled update policy.
on all my previous android phones I never had to do that. it's a sign of we don't know the solution so hard reset it and hope it helps. in many cases it doesn't help.

that's what backing up is for. all my apps restore on there own and most of them are backed up by Google so signing in to them is easy. I don't know if one plus launcher can be saved but I use lawn chair and I back it a all up so all I have to do is restore for my layouts to be restored. sounds like you don't use the tools given to you. let me guess you lose all your phone numbers too

no I don't loose these things, I use nova and that's backed up . that's the easy part. I changed lots of icons and don't know they are changed when putting back a backup. apps are no problem, they are easily put back with backups. all the settings within the app are not. did already a few times a restore in the past when i bought a new device and took me a while before the phone was back the way it was. like I said it took me weeks to come across settings that where not changed yet.
if I don't need to I won't reset. that's not the way android and OP updates are ment to be.

as a custom Rom flasher for years it's common knowledge when upgrading major Android versions to wipe. just saying. especially when you have issues. I also used Nova for the past couple months. had weird glitches where the themes would switch on their own and the native Android 10 gestures were funny/not working. the last couple weeks I went back to the one plus launcher and all those issues went away. since I reset most of my problems are gone and I'm now on lawn chair and everything is working perfectly as my pixel 3xl worked

    Hi friends, OnePlus community
    A few days ago I bought a dream mobile OP7 8GB / 256GB
    I manually installed the update: 10.3.0 GM57AA
But if I don't like Europe, it is version 10.0.3GM57BA
    Everything works OK!
Is there a problem? When I use version 10.3.0 GM57AA in Europe?
Please can someone help me and reassure if it's OK ?!
Thank you very much in advance !!

Ok... But 10.0.3 and 10.3.0 are for different regions and not really that much different in them. Current 10.0.3 EU is just the latest version 10.3.0 but for EU. Highest number is not nessesarilly always the best
