    akks

Its insignificant update as you rightly said, so no reason for frustration

Like all OneMinus updates... insignificant. Only to shut up the crying mouths of the outraged unsatisfied customers.

Is it charged to 100% during the measurement? Maybe it's optimizing. It's not strange to have some elevated processing some time if it's a recently updated device.
I have not found a way to see CPU usage for every single app without using root... That would have been useful otherwise.
You can however check what is normally draining the battery at the end of the da and before you normally charge. Elevated usage and charging both raises the temperature.
Let it settle in and charge to 100% during a night or an hour or 2 extra after having reached 100% to let the system finish a background optimize.

Ever since the first update of my 7 Pro there has never been an update that has been rolling out for everyone at the same time. It will come in time. Always staged rollout. Sometimes as far as for 2 weeks before global rollout. They release it that way to make sure nothing critical slipped by them and that they can stop the rollout if that is the case.

Using local upgrades does not affect future upgrades. Oxygen Updater will not do anything else than help with downloading a file directly from Oneplus servers.
The files provided by the app is manually tested and verified by staff before adding them. It collects data from users that recive normal OTA files.
Downloading (full 2GB) official updates from Oneplus servers is the same full files as Oxygen Updater offers (but updates the homepage much later - or atleast after global rollout)
