Chances are it's not the update that's making your phone laggy, likely having junk, crappy apps with low ratings on your phone, not refreshing your phone once daily/rebooting,etc. Part of having your phone running smoothly is from performing routine maintenance on your phone. I'm also on the latest update 10.3.5 and my phone's not even close to being laggy. Sure, I'm on the OnePlus 7 "Pro", but it must be the same as the 7 right; Otherwise, why would the O'mighty OnePlus have them here on the same thread?

I've been using the latest update 10.3.5 for the last 10-12 days,
I've encountered no bugs; NONE, battery performance has not only been great, but the best yet of any update to date on the OnePlus 7 Pro. This update has been so stable it hasn't hiccuped once.

If messenger or gallery isn't working for you, install a different one and stop complaining

In doing a thorough search on line there are no reports of bugs or reports of this update being pulled or put on hold. It's still downloadable on Oxygen Updater, so stop being a rookie.

If you haven't gotten the update OTA, stop complaining and use the app Oxygen Updater to get it.
    .
If you're afraid of using Oxygen Updater (as so many have used without issue), stop complaining and wait how ever long it takes to get the OTA.

No update here (UK) for my OnePlus 7... Still stuck on 1 July 2020 security patch level... Not happy... (My wife is even less happier, her OnePlus 5T haven't received a patch for eight months, hers is stuck on 1 Feb 2020 patch level, despite OnePlus promising 3 years of updates...)

Pls stop giving advice to use oxygen updater
I already told u its not Akbar's time , its digital world where data is transmitted over air(OTA)
It only take seconds to recieve

The only thing is OnePlus don't care about old costumer.......if they cared than till now all costumers would have got update

IF there are no serious issues than y they are delaying updates!!!!! And if they found issues than atleast that should inform costumers that "update will be delayed for some time"

You know when you first buy a OnePlus phone it's great that the OnePlus updates it right away to make sure you're off to a good start, but we shouldn't expect the manufacturer (OnePlus) to hold our hand throughout the life of the phone. Everyone has to search, research, trial and error and get past being a rookie at some point
and it doesn't make a company (OnePlus) a bad company because they can't hold your hand throughout the life of the phone. Whatever version OS the user has now is working well enough that the user should be able to wait for the OTA or check "Oxygen Updater" for the latest update. Update 10.0.3 was a good update. Update 10.3.4 was a little better. Update 10.3.5 is great; I've been on all the Stable and Beta versions except for beta 18. Those who keeps saying they still haven't received the OTA notification, sometimes need a pointer to another safe way to get the update.
    .
"Stop giving advise to using Oxygen Updater", that sounds not very helpful and like bad advise.
    .
How about you stop giving bad advise and try being a little more helpful.

-Good start is provided by all companies

-Its not about holding hands.....we gave money and in return they told to give smartphone and 2year "regular" update and security updates should be given every month ( its okay if 1 month is delayed but not 3months).
So it's their "duty" to interact with customers and solve their issues and its our "right" to get what we paid for

I spent money for its overhyped services, OS and updates will be getting in future.... not for its hardware specs at the time of buying.
redmi get more updates in a year than oneplus get in 2 year

-i never give advice to anyone if i m not capable of that thing or situation

-are u getting paid for defending OnePlus???

If you're not using your phone much restarting every two days is good. Your phone really shouldn't be laggy.
    .
The OnePlus 7 is a good phone and the laggyness ( if that's a word Lol) can be cleared up, it's just finding what's causing it. If it were my phone doing that the first thing I would do is uninstall and redo any changes I made in the order of what I last installed until I reach the point when I did not last have the lag. Then one by one reinstall back the apps and in between each install taking note on how the phone is performing.
    .
A good app I use that helps me to know what order what I installed last for finding problem apps:
